When I started getting into Polymer clay I heard about the Air Dry type firstI wanted to do it instead of bakign since it's be easier and I wouldn't have to use my mom's ovenBut I looked at craft stores and all I've found it the oven baked claySo I'd have to buy air dry onlineNow I'm considering buying a clay oven from Joanns and just doing oven clayIs there really a differance between the clays in the final product?I want to make mostly ice cream scoops cute stuff for jewerly and to deco thingsIs there any differance between them at all?Which do you think is better?
For polymer clay, i use sculpey, which is the oven-bake oneive never seen air-dry polymer clay at craft stores, but i think its cold porcelain the results are the same, and cold porcelain may seem easier to use because its softer and air-dryits also easier to moldbut cold porcelain air drys so you have to work fasteralso you dont need a craft oven, you can just use the regular kitchen ovenjust make sure to put your items on top of aluminum foil/ wax paper so it doesnt get stuck to the panpersonally i like oven-bake clay just cuz i can make any changes any time i want because it stays squishy the whole time and doesnt dry overnightbut its really your choice because some find cold porcelain easier to work with:D

Okay for my friend's birthday we're going to make a penis cake! But we're plannin it this weekend so we dont have time to buy an actual penis cake panSo we need help of how to create one ourselves.any suggestions? Like mix, how to shape it, decorating it.etc
depends on how impressive you want the cake to bePrepare the finished pan as you would any cake pan (grease flour it) then place on a cookie sheet before filling baking the cakeSince you'll want the cake to bake level (so one side will lay flat on the platter) you will have to raise support the business end of your cake with a wad of crumpled foilI have been making my own baking pans for years whenever I have needed a certain shape I don't have or can't findJust remember to support your pan with a cookie sheet.
I have been told I can micorwave potatos slighlty and them in foil to barbecue bake them but I am wondering how long to micorwave for and then how long to put on the bbq.
I put my potato that is large in the microwave for 8 minutes with a paper towel under itI stab it with a fork several times to let the steam escapeHalfway thru baking, turn upside downWhen it is finished baking, I remove it from the microwave oven and place on a square piece of aluminum foilOn that foil, I like to spread some butter/margarine and splatter about a teaspoon of salt then I fold up the potato inside the foilAway I go to the grillYou can leave the potato on your grill until you finish cooking your mealYour potato will already be done, but needs time to cureI place on the top shelf of my Weber grillWhen I take my meats/fish off the grill, I always place them in a separate foil and wrap them up to restThen I take off the potatoInto the house I go and fix my baked potato with all the fixin's then unwrap my meal and YAHOO.supperIt is very simple to doGood luck and good cooking.
