FAQ

theres an elevator in our house that we're renting but its broken and the landlord won't fix it.so are we allowed to get someone like a mechanic to fix it?
If you are going to pay for it and the landlord approves He would still have to pay for the yearly inspections, so may be unwilling to make it operational There may also be some insurance issues if it is operational that he would need to raise your rent to cover.
we cant go anywhere we have no money we just dont no what to do plz help thanks
Eat bananas + what that other guy said.
Today our school shut down because of the swine flu.We have three cases at our schoolWe arent allowed to see any of our friends because we dont know who has itWe cant even go outside its so bad what are some things we could do??PLEASE GIVE YOUR PRAYERS TO US!!
I'm assuming you're diabetic, and if so, you just had a low blood sugar Since you've treated it, you should have no reason to be concerned.
So we reach the singularity and machines are now sentientEveryone knows that the prime directive of all sentient machines is to kill all humansAfter a long bloody/oily fight we loseThen what? What would a race of machines do with Earth? I'll give you some things to think about. The MatrixWhat did the machines do? We know they kill or use humans for fuelWhat else do they do?TerminatorThey live to destroyWhat happens when they win?iRobotWhat if Will Smith failed?
They wouldn'tThe problem with the Matrix and Terminator is that in order for sentient machines to survive, they need humansSentient does not mean 'all intelligent'How does a machine know how to operate a nuclear power station to keep the electricity on? How does a machine drive a truck to deliver spare parts? So, as these films tried to suggest, SOME humans would be kept alive and work as slaves while the others were hunted down and killedThis wouldn't workOur society operates because people have skills and specialismsIf you want to keep a powerstation running, well, you have to keep the miners who dig up the coal and have to keep the drivers, and have to keep the sailors, and have to keep the crane operators who get it to the power plant, and have to keep the guys and girls working in the powerstations, and the people working on the distribution grid, and the people who repair it all, and the people who built the equipment to monitor the station, and the people who built the electronics, and you get the ideaNot only do you need people, but it's difficult to decide exactly who to kill! So it seems a silly strategy for a machine to kill off humans!
What jobs are well paid that don't revolve around sitting in an office behind a computer all day?
construction - even laborers can get paid $34+ /hr!you need to be licensed with hazmat, trucks, forklift, crane, and uh, whatever equipment there is on sitetruck drivers - $24 hr if you like driving then this is your job! machinist (old fashioned) medical professions, including animals if you're in CA, government licensed pot grower/dealer (that would be SO cool!) pot's $3000 an ounce, and a plant is $8klots of good money there, even after the rent, business licenses and California's cutcop- salaries varies by city and state, ideally if you have a degree you'll be paid better armed security guard $17.90 an hour and you get to carry a gun! repair something, anything but a plumberplumbers get $30/hr, but most of the time you'll be cleaning waste lines, its very stinky workgo fix something elsegunsmith or other firearms related jobs- paid surprisingly highalso extremely selectiveup-front cost are massive(licensing, permits, etc) military- they HAVE to take youyou could be utterly incompetent and if they can't find a reason not to take you (criminal record, mental problems, health problems), they HAVE to take youpay's around $12/hrpretty crummy, but considering that they HAVE to take you, its really not that badand they give you free housing, free food, free health care, lots of free stuffaccording to the government, you add all that free stuff they're paying roughly $60k a year.
What is the largest ship that has ever existed?
World's largest cargo ship How Wal Mart gets all its stuff from China Get a load of this ship! 15,000 containers and a 207' beam! And look at the crew size for a ship longer than a US aircraft carrier which has a complement of 5,000 men and officersThink it's big enough? Notice that 207' beam means it was NOT designed for the Panama or Suez Canal It is strictly transpacificCheck out the cruise speed, 31 knots means the goods arrive 4 days before the typical container ship (18-20 knots)on a China-to-California runSo this behemoth is hugely competitive carrying perishable goodsThis ship was built in three, perhaps as many as five sectionsThe sections floated together and then weldedThe ship is named Emma MaerskThe command bridge is higher than a 10-story building and has 11 crane rigs that can operate simultaneously Additional info: Country of origin - Denmark Length - 1,302 ft Width - 207 ft Net cargo - 123,200 tons Engine - 14 in-line cylinders diesel engine (110,000 BHP) Cruise Speed - 31knots Cargo capacity - 15,000 TEU I don't know what that means, but I'll bet it's a whole bunch Crew - 13 people First Trip - Sept08, 2006 Construction cost - US $145,000,000+ Silicone painting applied to the ship bottom reduces water resistance and saves 317,000 gallons of diesel per year.
A buddy and I just took a 2 section, approx20 foot floating dock out of a lake for winter storage with nothing but us 2 dudes, a truck, and an aluminum boatThe whole thing took us about 2 hours to accomplishWhen my friend originally talked to the guy to hash out a price, he wouldn't actually give any figures, but he did say that the last people who did it quot;used a whole crew and a crane and charged 'a lot'quot;Neither of us have done anything like this before, so we have no idea what to charge the guy and we can't find any references from people who have done something similar beforeBut I know that for someone who owns a place on a lake to say something cost quot;a lotquot;, it's gotta be a pretty exorbitant price tagI want to be fair enough so that he has us do it again, but also don't want to stiff myselfI'm going to continue to research this, but if anyone has a reasonable, educated figure, please let me know.Thank you.
You aren't insured, you don't have to pay taxes, you have no overhead - I would say $300 would be fair to you and your buddy to split for 2 hours work and the use of your truck and boat.
How much horsepower will I get out of a 4 bolt main 350 with .060 hypereutectic pistons, 302 duration/500 lift crane cam, 2.02 heads ported and polished, roller rockers, edelbrock performer intake, 750 holley carb, stock distributor, true roller timing chain.
There are still alot of variables involved but depending on how well the different parts mesh and how good your tuning skills are I would estimate 400 HPOther setups I have seen with that cam have made anywhere from 350 to 500 HP but the high end engines were built by serious racing engine shops and tested with multiple combinations of parts on a dyno before they got them perfect.
