Q:What is the average price for carpet these days?
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
Q:Is there a spray adhesive to lock yarns on the back side of a latch hook rug?
Any spray adhesive should work, look in the local craft store. For a more finished appearance, rugs and wall hangings should be bound. You can use either a sew on binding or an iron on. To finish without binding, cut canvas at least 3 holes beyond the outside edge of the design, fold to back of rug , match mesh and baste in place. To finish with binding, cut canvas at least 3 holes beyond the outside edge of the design, then cut the corners diagonally about away from the pile. Then with right side facing you, sew one edge of the binding as close as possible the knotted edge. Turn so the back is facing you, then fold back and sew the other edge of the binding to the back of the rug Miter corners and stitch down Finishing a wall hanging: Start at upper corner, sew on binding around both sides and bottom of the rug Then with right side facing you, sew one edge of the binding as close as possible the knotted edge of the top of the rug, turn over so the back is facing you, then sew down making sure you will have enough room to insert a rod or piece of dowel through. Alternatively you can just bind the rug in the normal manner, then to hang, sew on large wooden curtain rings, slide over a wooden rod, add wooden finials to the ends of the rod and hang. As for cleaning, my best advice is take it to a reputable cleaner, tell them what it is made from (type of yarn, etc), and ask if they can clean it with no damage. If you want to try washing it at home, use a good rug upholstery cleaner diluted with water in a bucket, then clean the rug by working a foam with a sponge, then using the foam gently rub into the material. Then dry by gently rubbing with terry cloth (towel). I would test a piece of yarn to make sure it's colorfast, first.
Q:How do I get Mold out of a rug???
try resolve carpet cleaner with the oxygen bleach in it.
Q:Where can i get a rug just like this, only cheaper? please 10 points bestans.?
The rug in the photo is made from wool. If you have pets in your home, wool is not a good choice as the pet will mark the rug with urine, numerous times if given the chance. They can sense another animal close by, in this case sheep, and will ruin the rug. As a pro carpet cleaner, I've seen this happen a million times. If you want a less expensive, plush rug, look for one made from Nylon. To save money, pick out a remnant at a carpet store, and have them or some one they know, sew a border around the perimeter.
Q:Can you make a rug using sheets, without a loom?
It's called a rag rug. As already described, cut the sheets into long strips and make braids. A five strand braid is wider and flatter than a three strand, so is usually the braid of choice for a rug. Once you have finished the braids you can sew them together side by side into a round or oval shaped rug.
Q:Dark Red nail polish on carpet?
let it dry, get on hands and knees with good light and use stout tweezers and a pocket knife to abrade the paint off the fibers. If too stubborn for this and you can get away with it, cut into the dried blob with tiny, sharp sturdy sissors, and brush it with a stiff brush. Or cut out tiny blobs without making too much of a big noticable hole. You can also use something like white-out dry-dabbing ever-so-carefully to soften the garish or pinkish leftover.
Q:What rugs to get for my horse?
For winter you need a heavyweight turnout rug for the cold, especially if your horse is fine or been clipped. In autumn and spring you should have a lightweight rug for variable weather and its not too extreme - can be used on thick or hairy horses in winter. The obvious stable rug will be different weights for different horses from lightweight fleeces to duvets. A stables horse is cooler than one turned out! Summer sheets are not waterproof but to keep the horse cleaner). New Zealand rugs are often waterproof and can be waxed as they're a thick canvas material. They are very strong, practically indistrucable and many owners use them as a all round year rug. Cooler rugs are for exercised horses and take the moisture away and can be put under a turnout rug or as a stable rug on colder days. FLEECES! Are very versatile and can be many colours and designs. Used as; a cooler, travel rug, under turnout or stable rug. EVERY HORSE SHOULD HAVE ONE. Can get different sizes in all rugs and high necked ones if it slips. Horse ware is my all time favourite! I would recommend it but there's also Derby house, Masta and Fal pro which are also decent. Hope this helps! :)
Q:Vacuums and Carpets?
I know that under the carpet the spongy part never stays clean . everything that gets on top of the carpet dirt... drinks ... spilt food whatever tends to go to the bottom of the carpet all the way to the spongy part and theres nothing you can do about it unless you get the carpet ripped up ... carpets are really bad to have when you have pets because of this and the stink part stays for years ... next house i get is going to have nothing but floor due to this !!!!!!
Q:how to get a white carpet clean?
Use a steamer.
Q:Do Rug Dr's Really Work? What do most Stores charge to Rent them, & How long?
I have rented a rug dr. before. I think it cost me around $65 (2002) after purchasing the soap and so forth i needed to use with it. I kept it for 24 hours. It did a great job. I got my full deposit back on my apartment.
