Q:Well water pump kicking on?
No problems. It just means that the check valve in the pump is leaking off slightly and the pressure is dropping down to kick the relay in. As long as it doesn't do it every few minutes when water isn't being used, you have nothing to worry about. If you have a facet with a drip, it will do the same thing.
Q:Is it really necessary to replace the water pump with the timing belt?
It is remarkably frustrating to pay for timing belt replacement then to have to pay for timing belt replacement plus water pump. If the cooling system has only had the proper Honda coolant and distilled water (or premix) replaced on schedule the odds are with you; if not... not. I learned the hard way that conventional green coolant attacks the water pump seal (first source). Really, it is your choice. However, be aware that water pump seizure is not all that uncommon. A friend of the family had a Ford that had a seized water pump when it was 4 years old - the car was out of warranty but still had a year of payments to go. It was a 90-something Escort with an interference engine and she had to replace the engine because the fragments of the valve seats ruined the pistons and cylinder walls. When I was active in Volvo forums a member had a water pump seize a few months after the timing belt was changed and it did $6000 damage. Your choice, but I always change the pump.
Q:The task at hand is to design a solar powered water pump for a 150 gallon aquarium.?
This okorder.com/ Most of what you need as far as the electrical side of this project should be on my site... As far as the aquarium design and choosing the pump, you're on your own. :)
Q:How to remove a 1983 Chevy Silverado water pump?
I just just put a new water pump on my 2000 silverado. You do not have to take the radiator out, just be careful not to ''poke'' any holes in it.
Q:97 silverado 5.7L water pump replacement?
sounds like you know what your doing. but i would advise you to take the shroud off first because it will get in the way. you might want to replace your hoses and thermostat also and use a gasket scraper instead of brake clean. happy wrenching.
Q:How to replace a water pump on a Mercedes E320?
1. Disconnect the Ground Cable. 2. Drain the Coolant. 3. Remove Fan Shroud. 4. Remove Fan Visco Clutch. 5. Remove Radiator Hoses and Thermostat Housing. 6. Remove the Serpentine Belt, pay close attention to the path of the serpentine belt. Suggestion draw a diagram as to it's path, before removing. 7. Remove the Water Pump Pulley and Power Steering Pulley. 8. Remove the Tension Adjuster Mechanism. 9. Loosen the Power Steering Pump and move it to the right a little. 10. Remove the Water Pump, and you're done. Tools Needed .... A nice Stereo, plenty of Beer, and a couple of friends to keep you company. Good Luck !
Q:How to change water pump on 1996 GMC Jimmy?
If the oil psi is dropping to 0psi and the oil is topped off and the engine starts making a noise when it goes to 0psi it is eat-her something in the oil pan getting around the pick up tube or the tub is loose or cracker or the oil pump is going out , and if the engine oil has not been changed on time it will do that , and i have seeing the the oil relive valve stick or the spring brake and co-use to do the same and i think the oil pump is in th front cover in front of the engine block , if this was me i would get a chiltons repair manual to repairer this proper , because low oil psi , you will need to replace rod and mane bearings, and if you don't do some thing soon you r going to have a big boat anker.good luck.
Q:1999 malibu 3.1 v-6 water pump???
Why not check the flow of coolant in your radiator. When the motor is cold remove the radiator cap, drain two cup fulls of coolant from the drain valve on the bottom. Start the car and when the top radiator hose is too hot to touch watch for flow of coolant directly inside the open radiator. You may need a small flashlight to watch the coolant. if there's no movement after 10 minutes idling two things could be wrong: Thermostat stuck shut or the impeller is in fact broken inside the water pump. Do the easy stuff first. Good luck!
Q:Is it possible for a water pump in a car to leak for awhile ( days; weeks???) or does?
Water pumps go when the seal around the bearing wears out. The leak starts out slow, but once it starts, there is nothing that can be done for it other than to replace it. The leak does start out slow, and get faster, but it can go from slow to fast in just a few days. Like you notice your car over-heats and needs water, and then a couple days later it needs more, and then you gotta fill it every day, and then like every hour, and then like every five minutes. Once it starts to leak, the water will leak a little slower if the engine is running and the radiator cap is loose, so that it cannot build pressure. But that trick is only good for getting you home, and then to the shop the next day. However, with the radiator cap loose, the water will leak faster if the engine is off. My wife's last car was ruined by severely over-heating, so it is not something you want to mess with. If your car severely over-heats, you will AT LEAST blow the head-gasket. So get it fixed as soon as possible, and in the meantime, carry jugs of water with you.
Q:1994 Toyota Corolla strange noise...Is it the water pump again?
You can do a prelimary check on the water pump. The water pump on this vehicle is not internally driven so the pulley is exposed outside the timing cover. Grab hold of the pulley and try to push it back and forth. There should not be any noticeable play. If there is, the pump is bad. Could it go out in three years? Sure it can especially if the pump previously installed was remanufactured and not brand new. If still in doubt, remove the water pump belt and start the engine. If the noise is still there, then the pump is not the problem. I live on a tropical island, so I can't help with the weather question, but I believe if you use the right type of antifreeze in the right mix ratio there should be no additional wear on the pump in cold weather. The thermostat should keep the engine at normal operating temperature regardless of the outside temperature (except for while it's warming up initially). Good luck!!
