Q:How do you say Second Floor in French?
I think you could answer this question yourself with a bit of guidance: 1. Will you ever work in politics? 2. Do you live on the west coast? 3. Do you think you will ever be interested in international trade? 4. Will you ever work in Quebec? 5. If you had to pick a any country in the world besides Canada where would that be? I live in Canada and I am deciding between Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic or Hindi - My decision is based on the countries I would do business with in the next 5-6 years. German is another candidate. Nothing wrong with French but how useful would it be to you based on your future goals vs any another language.
Q:laboratory flooring any1?
It is page 9, paragraph 9 Laboratory flooring in chemical use areas and other high hazard areas (suchas biological containment facilities) shall be chemically resistant and preferably one-piece construction with coverings to the wall. Good Practice A continuous floor reduces the potential for liquid absorption. Covings are recommended to facilitate clean up. Surfaces should be as free of cracks, crevices, seams, and rough surfaces as possible to avoid surface contamination traps. Found this under [Furniture and Fixtures ] Wet chemical laboratories and darkrooms should have solvent resistant coved flooring using sheet goods rather than tile, web.princeton.edu/sites/ehs/labsa... Could not find a hard answer about non absorbing floor coverings. In any Wet Lab, the possibility of chemical spills is ever present. To me it makes good sense to have a non absorbing floor to make clean up 100% Browse around on the source links below to find more input. Wingman
Q:No hole on the floor?
I live in the US and we don't have holes in our floors. Use a mop and soak up the water.
Q:Painting the garage floor.......?
Hey, I just painted my garage floor and used the epox they have at home depot. It comes in a box set (epox, starter, acid to clean floor, flakes for extra color) and has a dvd on how to get the best results. It costs about 60 bucks. I did exactly what the dvd told me and really I have a nice garage floor. I can highly recommend it. I think the temperature has to be above 45 or 50 degrees though. Plus you can't park your car in your garage for at least a week. Good luck
Q:Tile On Countertops & Floors?
It's true that solid surface would be best; however, you can use a granite tile at a much lower cost than a slab. Use dark grout and seal it properly to avoid the problems the other person mentioned. As far as color is concerned; I think I might want the floor a little lighter than the counter tops - to make them pop. Same color family, just slightly different tones or textures. Also, if you don't have a lot of counters, you can ask for a discounted granite slab; most granite places have leftovers. Make sure you have some warm color lighting or accessories to spice up your look; like oranges or reds.
Q:What is a good theme to decorate a college-dorm-floor for all boys floor?
My floor theme freshman year was really cool. Not an all guy floor but a good theme for guys. It was like double identity. For example you have two people in a room. One of their name tags on the door would be Clark Kent and the other Superman. Or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm a girl and mine was like Posh Spice and my Roommate Victoria Beckham. Just to give you some ideas. It was a cool theme...better than the average/boring movie poster floors. Good Luck!
Q:Floating floor versus gluing down?
A floating floor like Pergo does not devalue a house. If its' better than what is there now, Its an improvement. I have never seen a laminate floor in a bamboo pattern. If you have solid bamboo flooring then these are not meant to be a floating floor. I have never put these on concrete so I don't know how to do it. I also don't think it should be done at all. But I'm not a flooring guy so maybe there is a trick to this I don't know. Concrete has moisture in it almost all the time. Wood that will be in constant contact with concrete needs to be treated lumber by the building codes. Maybe there is a good way to do this but you definitely need someone who knows what to do in this instance. There are a few critical items that could really screw up your floor if not handled correctly.
Q:Tiling the kitchen floor?
As an installer myself I agree w/ slimp.. The one draw back is that if the cabinets need shimming a lot because of unlevel floor you may have to do something w/ the toe kick or a shoe molding. It does look much cleaner w/ tile under the cabinets. All you need to do is put tile 1 inch under the kick GL
Q:Is it okay to wax vinyl floors?
It is ok to wax it. only thing is once you wax it you will have to strip it and then it's up to you if you want to re-wax it. waxing it not only adds a shine but it allows you to scratch the wax and not the vinyl if you do scratch it. I wouldn't wax it though. It is like shaving your arm pit hair. once you do it you will always have to do it because it grows back thicker.
Q:Floating floor question?
I would not recommend doing so as it would automatically void the given warranty of your floors. I am assuming these are laminate floors? Some factors you may also want to consider is that it could be the floors are designed to be beveled. You might also want to check your subfloor for any unevenness.
