Q:So I am updating my bedroom, like new rug, new shades for my windows, repainting my walls, and a new bed mattress. So i have these butt ugly carpets in my room that i've had since kindergarden and they have to go. They are embarrassing, unattractive, and dirty. I just need to find a website that sells just rugs and that has a huge variety. I am specifically looking for plush rugs. I want the rugs to touch wall to wall, basically touching every inch of my floor, but i don't want an installed carpet that i can't take off the floor, just an area rug. So if you know of any good websites to get rugs off of please tell me. Oh and i'm a guy so thank you!

Q:My rug has been shedding and I have vacuumed it 100's of times and steam cleaned it. Is there anything I can do to stop the shedding? It is positively driving me CRAZY!! Any suggestions PLEASE
sounds like a bad buy have you tried taking it outside and combing it with a fine comb? Then follow up with a hoover. If this doesn't work......
Q:Our living room carpets really stained, and no matter what we use to clean it...It doesnt work. Even if professionals do it it looks like nothing helped. Any suggestions on gettin it clean?
What kind of stains are they? I have a toddler, so I have all kinds of little juice drips and such on my carpet. I find that OxyClean works pretty good to get most of them out. One sure eay to get them all out is to just replace the carpet.
Q:Alright , so we forgot and left the portable heater on the carpet and overnight it caught fire and burnt the carpet, its a pretty huge area.. Any idea's of how to make it less visible or even patch it ?Thankks MUCHHH .
yes, a carpet installer can patch it if there can be found a piece of carpet that closely matches it.if you can get it at a carpet store that would be the best, otherwise you can take a piece out of a bedroom closet or somewhere it won't be as noticeable.you can do it yourself but it is very complicated to explain on here.basically it is like a patch.
Q:I am looking to purchase an area rug. I finally see one that I love. It's made from viscose rayon. Would that be a mistake to buy. It's very reasonably priced. I have no intention to buy a $500 rug anyway.
You can secure it with double sided carpet tape if you are concerned about creep. The home improvement centers sell it and it works very well to secure the area rug I have under my dining room table. Viscose rayon would indeed be a good choice in an area with chair traffic, food and beverages. It won't hold stains or smells like wool does, will be easier to clean than silk and is better quality fiber than nylon. If the flooring that it is going over is hardwood or ceramic tile, you can also purchase a non-skid underlayment that will protect your floors and stop creep. Go for it and enjoy!
Q:I noticed that my carpet has holes in it. there are tiny areas where the carpet strands are gone/eaten/disappeared/burned/etc and i don't know what it is. Also, around the area it is black or has black stuff left on the carpet (light brown carpet color). Any ideas as to what it is? How to stop it? Fix it? [also the only pets i have are fish]
there's a few things that live in carpets or breed there. but moths are the ones that are famous for holes. the larvae eat the rug then become moths. If you're lucky a little flea spray and the worms will come up so you can see them. start using boric acid or diatomaceous earth (buy the kind for this use not the pool filter material). sprinkle on carpet and brush deep with broom. Vacuum more regularly and put down more boric acid every few months at least.
Q:I spilled Coca-cola on my area rug. The rug is relatively inexpensive and I've never spilled liquid on it. I decided it would be a brilliant idea to sop up as much liquid as I could with a towel and paper towels and then pour baking soda all over it, which I then proceeded to rub in. (I know, idiotic). The stain is now hard and crusty and I cant seem to vacuum it out. Any advice?
Not all is lost. Break up the crusties as much as possible and vacuum, probably just use the hose, not the various heads. Keep doing this until you'd removed as much as possible. If you have a clothes brush, use that to help as you vacuum. When you've done as much as you can, time to switch methods: first put a towel, shower curtain or whatever under your throw rug as you don't want to ruin the floor under neath.......if vinyl.......relax. Anyway. Make a solution of OxyClean.....I'd say a scoop to a quart of warm water.....mix well and then apply it to the stain.........if your carpet doesn't have latex on the back and you can move it to the tub.....pour the Oxyclean over the stain. Otherwise pour a bit on.......1/4 cup or so, rub with your fingers and immediately begin blotting it out with a clean towel......white or light colored just in case you get a color run from the towel. Repeat applying and blotting it up. That should do it. I doubt you'll need the whole quart. OH yes, finish with a clear water rinse and plenty of blotting. Check the towel or whatever underneath and replace it if wet. Let the rug air dry. No hair dryers as heat will set stains. Of course we hope like anything the OxyClean doesn't remove the color from your rug.....if you have bright colors.....use a weaker solution. OxyClean ihydrogenen peroxide which will bleach colors if in a very concentrated formula which it in the in the original mixture I mentioned.
Q:If I were to keep a horse turned out 24/7 in all seasons which rugs would I need?If possible, say where I could layer rugs to minimize buying loads of different kinds. Thanks in advance (:
Well, it depends where you live and the horses you have. If you live in the UK, for example, and have cobs which are out 24/7 they wont need a rug for most of the year, unless they are clipped or the weather is exceptionally wet. Perhaps just one lightweight turnout and one heavyweight turnout, and maybe a fleecy underneath for the very cold days.
Q:How to clean the glue on the carpet?
If it is chewing gum or flexible glue like double faced adhesive tape or Black & Decker glue ( full- purpose adhesive), and banana oil. use the volatile oil, but the carpet will be damaged, chloroform and hot water containing soda are the best. transformer oil and rosin water can also be used; if it is glass glue, acetic acid could be used(vinegar essence, nail color remover); if it is 502, it is afraid of heat and alkalis; if it is epoxy resin (combining of two kinds of glues), white vinegar), Fengyoujing could be used if you are afraid of pollute the air.
Q:How to reuse the used carpet?
Put it outside the door and use as the foot pad
