- cut your cloth scraps into long strips about 1 inch wide, sew ends together to make really long strips, sew 3 together at one end, attach that end to something and start braiding. when you get near the end of your strips, sew on some more strips and braid some more. Starting at the sewn end of your braid, tuck together and start a spiral sewing the edges of the braid to each other with button thread, keep going till it's the size you want. If you start folding a 3 - 8 inch length back on itself then keep going around, you will end up with an oval rug have fun

- Karen's answer would be best, just put it in the yard and soak the crap out of it.. but if you don't have a yard, the bathtub will do. Put it in, put some detergent in, (and maybe the salt to help keep the dye from going anywhere) swish it around a lot and maybe let it soak, then drain and refill the tub until you feel it's rinsed.

- Q:could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
- I think you can use a summer rug with a under rug that can keep him warm, if the snow melts in the middle of the night and the water wont soak the fleece. I bought a waterproof and durable HH summer rug for my pony, and I used it with a under rug. Also you can buy a proper turnout rug.;)
