More Applications of Universal Windshield Wiper:

Q:‘89 Eagle. Most cars have them easily seen on the firewall. Where‘s the Eagle‘s?? And the computer???
See where the wipers are? Take a look thru the cover it can be located in the interior, fire wall, but under the dashboard panel
Q:I damaged my windshields wiper yesterday while clearing ice from the windshield. I lifted the blades, but must have done something else during. Now my driver‘s side wiper will not wipe correctly, sometimes not going out far enough, other times too far, going off the edge of my windshield, which is scary. What should be done about this, and what can I expect to pay, if I can‘t fix it myself?
I'm gonna take a guess that you're not telling the whole truth. What you're experiencing is a common side effect of turning the wipers on while they're frozen to the windshield. The motor spins and strips out the wiper arm, causing random fluctuations in movement and sweep pattern because it's not tight anymore.
Q:Some time ago the passengers windshield wiper completely fell down and just stopped working. There‘s this sort of slab going across the hood right in front of the windshield where I can see that the windshield wipers were attached to each other by some hinge. What was happening is that one was moving and in turn pulling the passengers wiper at the same time. The bolt fell off and so they‘re not connected anymore.I don‘t know how to open that slab piece.I took my truck to advanced auto and he said that Fords are tricky and I might have to take it to a shop.Any clue how I‘m supposed to open this to fix the bolt? Or even what sort of bolt I might need to use? Thanks
My Ranger wipers dont work at all !! In messing with mine i realized you have to remove your motor from the firewall and pull it out as far as you can. Once out you have to reach in and put the passenger arm back on. Mine has a clip on it that holds the arms on. I would say your clip is broken. Im sure you could get one at the ford dealership or a salvage yard. Hope this helps you out. You can do it however it will be somewhat a pain!
Q:I live in Chicago and have a 1994 Toyota corolla. Today when I went to start my car my windshield wiper would not work. However I hear the motor running. I was wondering what is wrong with it? Is it frozen or is the motor mess up? and how much would it cost to replace if the motor is mess up?
odds are its just frozeni live in the milwaukee area and I know whats its like to not have the windshield wipers working in winter.odds are you will just need to let the wipers and stuff in that area warm up so if you have a garage that would do perfect
Q:Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to adjust the movement of the front windshield wipers. Any help will be appreciated.
on some vehicles there is a little nut you loosen and that moves the arm back and forth. after you get the wipers where you want them you tighten the nut.or maybe you have to take the wipers off and reset them.
Q:i have an 83 gmc 1500, it is a 4 speed 4x4, i was wandering were the windshield wiper switch would be. because there is no spot on the column for a switch, the only spot would be the turn signal which is there, someone switched this truck over to a 4 speed and they used a different column
Are you referring to the park switch? it is located inside the wiper motor. the park switch is what turns off and parks the wipers in the down postion. you should be able to buy one from a local part store and or dealer.some newer designs are motor asm only and dont offer a park switch seperate good luck
Q:I Have a 1990 ford f150. The wipers only work on high, I put in a new switch and it didn‘t change. Then a day later I left home in a rain and they started working like they were supposed to. But about a 1/2 hour they quit working all but high and then they would slow down if the window started to get dry. Is this the motor or is there a relay somewhere?
Pretty certain there is a rheostat for the wiper motor - that would explain still working on high. Sorry, don't know the location. Try tapping the motor and see if they restart. Old tech trick but accurate.
Q:My windshield wipers make that chatter noise when they are turned on. I tried Rain X and followed the directions, but that just made them worse. Any ideas on how to make them stop doing this? The blades, old ones and the news ones, both make this noise. I adjusted them too, but nothing seems to work. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Not enough spring tension from the arm to hold the wipers to the window. The arms may be a part you would need to order from the dealer. When you pull the arms away from the windshield, is there much resistance?
Q:Hi!The front wipers on my 2000 Nissan Xterra make a sound as if they are trying to come on, but they wont move. I‘ve tried tightening the bolts, but that isn‘t the problem. Does anyone know what the problem may be and around how much it would cost to get fixed? I don‘t know much about cars and would rather not be overcharged at a mechanics.
Check the wiper regulator. Take off the wiper arms and blades (take off the bolt you tightened) which can be a pain sometimes but they do come off. Pop of he cowling (sits between the windsheild and the hood - usuall some srews and clips) and look at the wiper linkage under the cowling. You might have popped the linkage that goes from the moter to the regulator or elsewhere along the span on the regulator. Something might be wedged in there not allowing the things to move in there (you'll be amazed some of the things found in there), or like already said, the moter might be done. I wouldn't say the fuse as if it sounds like it wants to run then it is gettng the power, a fuse interrups the power when the AMP load is to great for the fuse to take which is there for safety so you don't damage the unit on the other end.
Q:I,turn my windshield wipers and the motor is running but the wipers don‘t move. What causes this ?I, hope someone help me with my problem.
If both wipers do not move at all while the drive motor is running, it means that either the grooves in the splines are stripped and/or the mounting nuts are loose. Remove both wiper arms and run the wipers observing the movement of the splines. You may have a drive mechanism problem. It would help to know the make and year of the vehicle.
