For the 215 vs 205, it should not make too much of a difference but since 205 is the standard for the Civic, they will get better fuel economy.

The tire can be mounted to that rim. I would not recommend it. Especially if you are only putting it on one of the wheels. It is two sizes wider. You can have clearance and handling issues. Stick to the tire size that your vehicle was equipped with unless you are using custom rims.

Q:I am shopping for winter tires for my Alero. According to my owner‘s manual the tire size I need is 215/60/R15. I looked back at an old invoice from 2009 when I purchased new all-season tires for my car and the size stated is 205/65/R15. My question is - does it matter if the tires aren‘t the EXACT size they‘re supposed to be? I have had my 205 sized tires on now for 2 years and haven‘t noticed anything different. If anyone can answer this question for me it‘d be much appreciated.

I'm rocking the Blizzak WS70s this year and I've been very happy with them. Studs are an old technology these days. In fact, non-studded snow tires are actually starting to out perform studded tires. Yup, it's the future and it's pretty cool. Last 5 years I've been using the Nokian Hakkapeliitta. That is a badass tire but can be rather expensive in the larger sizes. Either one is fine.

the tire should say the psi the tire pressure should be. go get the tire numbers and search on line. without looking at your tires myself. I would guess about 35 psi. but your tires should have some info on the tires.
