Q:So, I m moving to an apartment that has totally outdated carpet. I want to change it, but obviously I can t being that it is an apartment I m renting. Are there any other options, other than buying a giant rug? Also, what are carpet tiles? I ve heard that they re cheaper than actual carpet, but do they require installation? Are they permanent? DIY people, help!!: You cannot lay carpet tiles over existing carpet.

Q:Personally, I think they are kind of dumb. They get all messed up, are hard to wash and attract dog hair like no other. Do you think it makes a house look cheesy with no rugs in the bathrooms, entryways etc?: i think its just something to give design and stuff. but yea its pretty dumb. but i if you have wood floors and you put a table there. it would be ideal to have a rug so you don't scratch the floor. and if you have wood floors having a rug would make a good spot for you to just lay down and chill. my dad changed my house to all wood floors and i liked carpet a lot better. Just for living carpet was better. its more comfortable but cleaning wise and stuff. its terrible lol and people dont really have rugs in entranceways. those are floor mats which is different. its so you can rub the mud of your feet when its rainy outside. And as for the bathroom their usually tile. . .so idk why you would put a rug there. . .and it would get all wet and stuff and dry kinda slow.

Q:The carpet is short berber type carpet.: ok...I had a similar difficulty..same carpet color...my daughter spilled a buncha outstanding pink polish.... Remover worked on a number of it...yet not all of it. i eventually talked a dry cleanser into promoting me slightly bottle of dry cleansing answer. It took numerous tries making use of a sparkling washcloth/cotton rag each and each and every time, notwithstanding it did come out, and did not harm my carpet.

Q:Is it harmful to people to use carpets for a long time?: Carpets made of wool, silk, rayon, etc add to the comfort of the interior, but they are a good place to live. Dust mites are allergens. People with allergies can get sick after inhaling certain allergens. Although the carpet can be removed by vacuum cleaners, it is not thorough. Investigations show that more than 90% of the dust mites are not able to carry it.

Q:Does anybody have a recipe for home made carpet cleaner for a steam cleaner?Thanks: Never use a wet vacuum cleaner or a steam machine to pull the stain from the carpet. The reason is that the heat will actually cause the stain to permanently stay in the carpet fiber. Another common cleaning mistake includes rubbing the stain too vigorously with a cloth, brush, or any other item. Instead, soak up the spill with a clean white cloth, paper towel, or newspaper by standing on top of it. Use a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water and brush lightly to remove the stain. Vigorous brushing untwists the carpet fibers, which gives the carpet a dull appearance thereafter.

Q:I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?: if it's an old rug and is from your grandmother, then I would think you would consider it an antique and treat it properly. The proper way is merely to store it or place it on the wall as an antique. I doubt very much if you could clean the yellow, and the threads would have weakened over the years. I'd keep it as a treasure. It could be valuable, plus you might want to pass it down to your children. Buy yourself another rug to walk on.

Q:How do I clean the red carpet?: If it is a large area of carpet, use a mop and other cleaning tools, clean the soil, and then clean with detergent, and then use a high-power vacuum cleaner repeatedly water absorption, and so on.

Q:I'm looking for a rug that I've seen on TV many times, yet I can't find it anywhere on the internet. It's a large brown area rug and it has a huge white/cream hollow circle on it. Q:I'm buying a house and need to replace the carpet currently in it. I can't get an estimate on it until I close so I'm looking to get a ball park number. I need to replace about 800 sqft. What price am I looking at to get wood laminate put in verus mid-grade carpet. Thanks.: A mid grade carpet (3$ a s/f) will go in at 2400$ +- .. And laminates 2.5 a s/f for the laminate 2$ a s/f for installation. This will be about 3600$. Now the carpet price can be done at that price for a regular residential carpet and standard pad ( 5 1/2 # minimum) that will hold your warranties. Now these prices won t include any rip out and removal of the existing carpet or un seen floor prep. You may be able to get rip out included if some one wants the work, because of the economy..
