Q:what is the usual width in which carpet is sold?
carpet is sold either 8' wide or 12' wide
Q:Disposable kitchen rugs?
I have never heard of disposable kitchen rugs. Perhaps just buy s really cheap rug and then you can always throw it away when you are done. Some cheap area rugs are available at the following places:
Q:How to remove Wood Stain from carpet?
This Site Might Help You. RE: How to remove Wood Stain from carpet? Yes... i have been staining a part of my wood closet doors. While this has happened... i had accidentally gotten a few small spots of stain on the carpet. Does anyone know how to get these out?
Q:Help measuring carpet ? I'm about to buy carpet need carpet tips?
What is your room shaped like? If it's a perfect square, then it should be obvious, but if it's L shaped or some other shape you'll have to work a little harder. If you've ever taken geometry, then you should have no problem. If your room is L shaped, break up the space into two rectangles. One for the vertical part of the L and another for the horizontal part of the L. Then measure each rectangle separately and add the two amounts together. The other thing you have to remember about carpet is that it's going to have a seam. Obviously there aren't 20 foot wide rolls of carpet out there, so installers will sew the pieces together to create a seamless look. That is something else you have to determine. You'll have to find the carpet you want and figure out how wide it comes. THEN you'll have to figure out where to put the seam in your floor in order to have it as out-of-the-way-of-foot-traffic as possible so it doesn't come apart after a few years. In all honesty, carpet is a lot more confusing and difficult than most people think, which is why there are professionals you can call for help with this. I suggest you call a local carpet dealer and ask them what they recommend. After all, they're not going to charge you to call and ask. Good luck!
Q:Why so many Americans use carpets instead of hardwood floors ?
Because American houses aren't built tough, unlike European. So the floor in the apartments are kinda thin and shitty, and the neighbors downstairs can hear every step you make. Carpets are dampening the sound. Where I live there is also a regulation that, I think, is 70% of the apartment should be carpeted.
Q:Removing Soft Pastel Stain from carpet?
Hoover with soft brush attachment just hover(hover not hoover) above the stain as close as possible so that you don't press it in to the carpet.DO NOT put anything wet on it or press it in any way.If still there use the brush attachment lightly on it while hoovering.
Q:What is that stuff called that helps keep your rug from sliding around on your hardwood?
a rug pad. If you mean those white, rubberish things that are a couple inches smaller than the rug and that at he rug sits on.
Q:The best way to carpet deodorant
Carefully sprinkle soda powder on the stand, place for a few hours, use the natural adsorption of soda, absorb the odor.
Q:braided rug classes?
It seems like braided rugs are pretty intuitive -- just braid and sew, and use your imagination. If you are afraid of goofing up, you could try doing coasters or placemats first. I don't think you need a class, but sometimes it's nice to do it with other people.
Q:What is the best carpet out there?
Carpet is such a taste thing. I like level loop carpet (like most commercial carpet.) In fact, I like commercial carpet period, as long as it is made of nylon. IN your case, if you use commericial carpeting, make sure it is continuous backing that is water proof. Nylon will not stain, is very easy to clean with a steam extractor (buy one and keep it handy if you have doggies). The most important part is the water proof continuous backing...water cannot penetrate the backing and therefore, will not drag up dirt into the top when the carpet dries! Commercial carpeting is all moving towards squares that, when laid, look like a continuous carpet..the glue used makes it easy to remove and replace a square should it become badly damaged...no problems with the entire carpet! BUT it is expensive (and well worth the money)...figure about 30.00 a yard installed. No padding is used. Furniture does NOT have to be removed from the room. And it will last probably a lifetime under your wear/tear conditions. Install once and be done with it...therefore, choose a neutral tweed...biege with brown, black, gray, copper flecks will go with everything, anything in the future. Good luck, Goldwing
