Q:So, my vegetable garden is finally dying because it's getting colder. I feel kind of sad because I didn't utilize it much. A lot of good crops went bad and were wasted. Also, I had a hard time keeping pests away and preventing my squash plants from rotting. Anyone have any tips to share that I can keep in mind for next year as far as utilization and pest/mildew control while keeping everything organic?
Think about what you grew that was over kill and plant less of that. Weather is a killer. If you are getting to much rain tent up some clear poly over the plants. Make sure your garden is located in an optimal part of the yard and each of the plants is growing far enough apart to get the full effect of the sunlight. When the ground is very moist lift ground vegetables with a Styrofoam florist ring. Planting marigolds and putting trays of hot pepper around plants deters bugs..As does a daily spray with dish soap and water. Don't pull but rather till in the dead plants and add lime to prep the bed for next season. Do not plant the tomatoes in the same spot they need to be moved every year. Compost the leaves and grass cuttings it will make great mulch for next year.
Q:where to find home depot coupon?
If you have just moved into your neighborhood you can call the city hall and ask for a welcome package which usually has a home depot coupon for 10% off purchase. Maybe you can ask home depot for one.
Q:I'm want to start selling something but I don't want to sell Mary Kay, Lia Sofia, Avon or Tupperware. Do you know of anything else to sell? If so, can you tell me how to get started?
Pampered Chef Party Lite Discovery Toys Home and Garden Party I'd just do a search for their website - there is usually a link for more info on becoming a consultant. I'm a Mary Kay consultant...is there a reason you've ruled it out? I love their products...and I don't really wear make-up!
Q:How to modest your garden with furniture?
Outdoor garden furniture can bring beauty and elegance to your home garden. Being a natural product, wood is considered to be the best material for kind of setting. An ideal wood material for garden furniture is teak, which is excellent quality and long lasting, which is why it is frequently used for indoor and outdoor furniture. Teak has many advantages over other wood material for garden furniture: * Teak wood is good-looking, smooth, sturdy and durable. * It is resistant to bad weather and insects. A garden bench made of teak is capable of withstanding rain and sunlight for several years even without periodic maintenance. * Unlike furniture made of other materials, teak furniture doesn't require artificial polishing or oiling. * Teak wood is rich with silica and natural oil content that make it resistant to all kinds of insects. * Teak is very suitable for structural works and carved designs for its sturdiness, elasticity and ease of use. * Teak wood does not get rotted or splintered even if it remains in contact with metals like iron for years due to the presence of silica and oil content. * Cleaning and maintaining teak furniture is pretty easy.
Q:This year they are during the same week. I am trying to decide which one would be best to attend. Have you been to either/both in the past and what did you think of them.thanks
I've been to the one in St. Louis. I enjoyed it. There were many interesting, fun things to see. Lots of useful information booths, too. I went a couple of years ago to the one in downtown St. Louis. If you enjoy home decor and, especially, gardening and landscaping, I think you'd enjoy the show.
Q:My husband and I are hours away from going under contract on a new construction Townhouse in Independence (Winter Garden FL). If anyone out there is a current owner in the community, what is your impression of the HOA? I'm also hoping to have the tax info provided by Lennar confirmed by a resident. Thanks!
In addition to the Price of a condo or townhouse purchase there are many things you should be aware of prior to your purchase offer and signing your sales contract. 1 Make sure you are given a copy of the CCRs as well as the by-laws. Make sure you read these two documents. (If they are not available then you should not sign any sales contract until you actually have a copy of these two documents in your hand. A condition of your sales contract should be that you read and approve the CCR and by-laws. Failure to read these two documents have caused condo owners more headaches than can be told here. Once you have accepted the condo and signed the sales contract it is too late if you find something you might object to in one or both these documents. #2 How much are the condo association fees and what might cause them to be increased When was the last time the condo fees were raised and for what reason. How much of a reserve do the association have if any? #3 When will the developer allow the owners to become members of the association? #4 Have the developers selected a management company. Check their track record out by getting their address and telephone number. This is the company that will be handling and allocating funds for your common areas, pool, property county taxes, landscape maintenance, as well as the ability to raise your association fees. #5 You would want to know if there are current law suits against the condo association or if a condo resident is suing the condo association. #6 You would want to know if more than one person own more than 10% of the condo units. Owing more than 10% of the complex would give one owner too much power and the ability to control the association and management company. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
Q:Is this possible to do at home? Like in a garden or indoors? I would like to grow some to use them for baking. Thanks!
If you have a small greenhouse you could grow them indoors. It is best to start the plants indoors and when they are ready you can transplant them to your garden. Choose a seed. After much testing, the following varieties were proved to provide the best yields: Omega, Linton and Rahab. Linton and Rahab are brown colored and Omega is golden in color. Prepare Soil. Flax seed grows best in soil that is well drained and contains a large amount of organic matter Plant the flax seed. Sow the seeds in early spring. Specific planting times will vary based on where you live, so check with your local seed supplier. Once planted, cover lightly with approximately 1/8-inch of soil. These plants will bloom the following season. If you plant them in the fall, they will bloom in the spring. Again, check with your local grower about best planting times. The ideal spacing is about 10 to 12 inches apart Grow Flax. Flax likes full sun. You will also need a general fertilizer when initially planting and then continue to add each month until harvest. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Make sure to prune the plants to keep them healthy. Prevent Disease. Flax is prone to fungal disease and other blights. There are many organic and non-organic fungicides to choose from. Recommended for insects are Sevin or Telone; for fungicide: Busam or Captan. Harvest Flax. Flax is ready to harvest when 90 percent of the seed capsules have turned brown. You simply mow it and then rake it up into sections and let it dry. Hope this helps and happy gardening.
Q:i have a cat thats always in the bin ripping bags open making a mess, pooping in the bath and anywhere but his kitty litter and being genrealy ferral.i also have a 4 month old who will prob start crawling soon and i dont want the house to be so horrible and yuck when he does.but i dont want to get rid of the cat because hes realy sweet and affectionate and good around my son but i need help training him.so i need dr harry lol how would i contact him.and does he come to melb?or if you have any tips on training the cat that would be apreciated.

Q:A life style magazine that includes: recipes, home and garden ideas, true stories, fashion, beauty and health tips. I have to make two covers for different age groups. For the older magazine it will be for women, but for children it will for boys and girls.
Couture, Couthie, Dawn.
Q:We are building a new home and are acting as our own contractors. We are having cabinets, granite, wood floors and tile brought in from other stores but need faucets, sinks, toilets ect.. Home Depot used to do a 10% discount card but neither them nor Lowes does this anymore. Anybody have any ideas as far as where to go to get alot of things where they might give a dicount? How is Home Deot and Lowes quality?
I would call a plumbing supplier. Tell them you want to buy all of your fixtures and ask if they will give you a discount on buying everything for your house from them. Also, quality of fixtures is not found in the store but in the brand. Koeler is your top of the line stuff, but it is expensive! Moen is standard for faucets and has a life time guarantee. Peerless is also a good name for faucets and American Standard is a good name for your ceramic fixtures.
