Q:can anyone give any solution to this problem? i have loads of flies in my garden, there is no animal waste or?
Go to your local home and garden center. There are fly traps available. The one I use is a gallon jug with an attractant that you mix with water. If you leave the trap in a low sunny place, you'll be grossly amazed at the number of flies it will capture. We use one only about every two years because it's so effective. They cost about $10. Good luck.
Q:What kind of fruit tree can I grow in my home garden?
I would plant a money-tree. If you want one, I can sell you.
Q:what are the easiest things to grow in your FIRST home garden?
Veggies: cabbage, lettuce, carrots, beets, leeks, berries, blue berries, get those recommend for where you live. snow peas, Lima beans Flowers: Canna Lillies, Tulips, Daffodils, Chrys. Daylillies, Hydranga, Rhododendrone, Poppies.apple and cherry trees for color. Dig your soil deep and turn it over, use well seasoned fertilizer, any of the following: rabbit, chicken, cow, horse, and rack it in when you smooth down the soil. You may also use decomposed leaves. Take out weeds as you see them.
Q:What is that home and gardening tip book, where it tells you how to re-use different stuff and save money?
This okorder.com. You can search for the book by catagory. I would start with home and garden. You might also want to try search phrases like money saving tips, home recycling tips, and others. I'll bet it won't take you long to find it. Good luck with your search.
Q:How do I label clothing for my mom who's in a nursing home?
There are probably local women that are advertising sewing services. I know in the military they had special clothing marker in a pen style. Maybe Michael's has them.
Q:How do you find out what plants you have in your new garden?
Often the people who work in your local nursery or garden center are happy to ID samples of your plants. Bring in a branch from each plant (more than a single leaf is best), and they can tell you what they all are.
Q:Have you ever swayed from the cookbook Better Homes & Gardens?
I've always used this old, beat up, Pillsbury cookbook of my mom's. Sadly, I'm one of those people that can't cook anything unless I have a picture to go with it, and my Pillsbury cookbook is pretty good at having pictures of just about everything.
Q:whats the value of a 1945 home and garden magazine?
Not much...entertainment/curiosity value only. I've got old Ladies Home Journals circa 1895 I got for a buck about 20 years ago. . Fun reading but really not worth much, about 5 bucks ea, maybe. I like them for their 'advertizements.
Q:How can I keep squirrels from eating all the vegetables in my garden?
Potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob and squirrel. Squirrel stir fry. Baked squirrel, carrots, onions and potatoes. BBQ squirrel with steam veggies.
Q:are flowers cheaper at a garden center?
well that's a challenge cause i think walmarts have great prices on their plants and some times Lowe's offers great deals and a one year guarantee on their plants look for plants that are well taken care of make sure you check for bugs and brown or yellow leaves to get the best for your money i do not like plants from k marts cause the one by my house does not take care of them so i really don't care how cheap they are good luck and you can always purchase seeds they are cheaper than established plants or flowers
