Q:I'm just looking for monthly updates and stuff on new ideas for my home. Not really garden ideas so much. Any magazines or the like that send out free issues that you know of? Thanks.
google free home and garden magazines.
Q:panelling beadboard wainscot and raised panel ideas for your home?
Somehow, you've wandered into the wrong forum! This is the home theater electronics forum, where the discussions are centered around home theater system and TV operational and electronics problems. I think you want one of the sub-forums under Home Garden, like DYI or decorating and remodeling.
Q:Do cucumbers planted in home garden need to be watered once a day or twince a day ? If there are two or more new small cucumbers on one branch, will they all become fruits that can be reaped ?
once a day either early morning or later at night so the sun doesnt fry them. Yes the will grow with more than one on a vine. i put mine against my fench they will climb too for future reference and that makes them more stable and larger. but dont water when its sunny it will damage the plants.
Q:I want to make the original cookie recipe from the sixties. However i do not have the cookbook. The cookies are sugar coated balls called either Christmas balls or snowballs. The cookbook was the better homes and gardens quot;birthdays and family celebration.quot; My mom really loves these cookies so i thought it would be nice to bake them for her and surprise her.
Snowballs 1 c butter or margarine 1/2 c sifted icing sugar (powdered) 2 tsp vanilla 1 Tbs water 2-1/4 c Cake and pastry flour 1 c nuts, chopped Candied cherries Icing sugar (powdered) Cream together 1st two ingredients. Blend in next 2 ingr. Stir in next 2 ingr. Shape into small balls with a piece of candied cherry inside. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in 300 degree oven for 30-35 mins or until set. Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar. Yield 5 dozen.
Q:I like to import Flower vase, Flower decoration, Flower garden items from China. Do you any specialWhole sale super Market or manufacturer in China?
Are you in USA? There are lots of suppliers of Garden Decorations in US to help put our workers back to work. Just suggestion.
Q:i have a new house and a builders yard as a garden. they have put topsoil on the rubbish (probably) the base is sandstone 500mm below. i wish to create a good green lawn / flower beds (shrubs, honeysuckle, jasmine, summer bed flowers)What can i do / add to the prepare the soil over the winter ready for grass seed / planting in spring?
Depending on where you live would have a lot to do with the grass. Right now, you can use lots and lots of mums, get some perennials like a butterfly plant, rhododendrums. Everyone I know likes to plant petunias for summer. I like moss rose, jacob's coat, mexican heather, elephant ears. I know that logging on to Home and Garden would help you about the mulch. Everyone has different opinions about the best type. Check out a local Home Depot or nursery for help with your soil preparation unless you get a good response from someone else. Good luck and happy planting.
Q:Nursing home residents need to have their clothes labeled with their names to ensure that the laundry room returns the clothes to their proper owners. I hand stitched (don't know how to use a showing machine) to her clothes labels I made using medical tape a Sharpie pen. Several washings later, while the stitched tape is still holding fine, her name is starting to fade - apparently Sharpie pen ink can only withstand so many washings. I've searched high and low, but I can't seem to find any sort of quot;clothing labelingquot; device / system / tags / whatever. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice replies!
Any recommendations on situations where clothes tend to go walking, even when labelled? Even a nurse told me not to buy name brands :( I don t want to write my Dad s name obscenely all over his clothes but it infuriates me that people are stealing his clothes. In the past I hand embroidered his name but that didn t stop his clothes from disappearing. Hate to write it big across the back or down a pant leg but that sounds like it would be a theft deterrent. Thoughts?
Q:Also I have another question: If I move the entire group of sims will they get to keep all of the stuff from the former house?
I believe you can buy books from the book shop on gardening and pretty much everything else. Then you can either put it away on the bookshelf or keep it in your inventory and click on it and read it whenever you want.
Q:Is there a home remedy to kill ants and insects to use in my vegetable garden?
You can get boric acid from the drug store. Anything you make yourself will not have the power you need. Sevin is cheap and works well on vegetables wait for 3 days after you spray to be sure you will not eat it.
Q:for stuffing/ dressing that has sausage, chestnuts and pistachios in it. It is for a friend who lost his recipe b/c of Katrina. Who would have thought everybody should take their recipe books with them? Anyway, I've already checked the Better Homes and Gardens website and they do not have it listed. Any help would be appreciated!
go okorder and browse the stuffing/dressing. they have literarlly thousands of recipes for everything. good look!
