Q:what do you have to do to enter the better homes and gardens navman competition?
It said Be watching Better Homes and Gardens 7.30PM Friday 10th December to find out how you can win
Q:old homes days?
the Bells exercise their burning desire to take crumbling old bungalows and aging Victorian homes, give them face-lifts, and at the same time, turn a lost neighborhood into a sought-after place to live. October 2002 Victorian Homes In October 2002, Victorian Homes, another nationally known magazine, contained an article about Old Homes Inc. The article contains the details of several homes in the Highland Park neighborhood of Chattanooga that were saved and restored by Old Homes Inc. You can view the full article in Adobe Acrobat format here. (1.64mb) 'We just love old homes,'Heather says. 'Some people are crazy about baseball or cars. We are crazy about old houses.'
Q:New to gardening...any advice?
We do not know where you live, so it's almost impossible to give any hints. My best suggestion would be for you to go to your local nursery and ask. They will usually give you great ideas if you buy your plant material there. By the way, there is no maintenance free garden.
Q:Does anyone have a 1970s Better Homes & Gardens cookbook w/ a recipe for swedish meatballs?
I have a 1968 better homes and garden cookbook, so here is recipe.3/4 lb lean ground beef,1/2 lb ground veal, 1/4 lb ground pork, 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs, 1 cup light cream, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 egg, 1/4 cup finely snipped parsley, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, dash pepper, dash ground ginger, dash ground nutmeg, 2 tablespoons butter, gravy. grind meats together twice. soak bread in cream about five minutes. cook onion in butter till tender. Mix meats, crumb misture, onion, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, ginger and nutmeg. Beat five minutes at medium speed with electric mixer or mix by hand until well combined. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls( mixture will be soft, for easier shaping, wet hands or chill mixture first) brown meatballs in 2 tablespooons butter. remove from skillet.. For gravy: melt 2 tabvlespoons butter in skillet with drippings. Stire in 2 tablespoons all purpose flour, . Add 1 beef bouillon cube dissolved in 1 1/4 cups boiling water and 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee powder. Cook and stir till gravy thinkens and bubbles, add meatballs, cover and cook slowly about 30 minutes , baste occasionally. makes 30 balls.
Q:Bugs are eating my vegetable garden?
Get some DE diatamaceous earth it is completely non toxic you can even sprinkle it on pets food to kill internal parasites, it absorbs all the moisture out of bugs bodies leaving only an exoskeleton ,keeps on working unless rain washes away look for it in garden centers or feed stores, it is a powder good luck from Texas
Q:Does anyone know any good home stores online?
okorder.com is a good place to shop. Hope this helps.
Q:what are some safe, edible garden plants for dogs?
Here is a link to the ASPCA's poison control web page. It's full of good info including lists of what NOT to have in your home/garden. As a kid, I had a doberman who would steal strawberries and tomatoes out of the garden. Couldn't help but giggle when she would go out then come back in dripping with red juice...lol. My current dobie loves having a treat of fresh-from-the-garden cherry tomatoes, but doesn't steal...he asks...lol.
Q:WHat are your plans for the spring, Vacation, Gardening, buying a new home? Whats your agenda?
I have a new home, but it needs Gardens and Flowers and Fountains, and Trees and a Pond and a Patio and Planters and..............(anyone here do landscape design??) :) my poor husband.......
Q:Help me understand what and why this is happening? I posted a question in HOME & GARDEN - OTHER about?
All questions go through a filter system to see if they pass the community guidelines or to see if they have been asked before, if they pass and they have not been asked before they will post eventually, also if your a level one user and your trying to post hyperlinks with your question that will slow down the posting time.
Q:I like landscaping and vegetable gardening what megazine would i be interested in?
Buy the book Better Homes and Gardens Complete Guide to Gardening. This beats magazines and is the best book I ever bought.Has everything about soil, composting veggies. fruit trees, shrubs and how to on several subjects. Good Luck. From old 8o year old GRANNY. Try WalMart. That's where I bought mine.
