They're all snake oil fixes. Oil additives promise great things, and one or two may actually improve lubrication, but in the long run they're a waste of money unless you're running the car on a race track all the time. I have over 170k miles on my car with nothing but regular old 10w30 motor oil (non-synthetic). I don't use or recommend oil additives to anyone, especially if they advertise on TV infomercials.

There is more than one kind of fibreglass Fiberglass insulation (sometimes called Pink) is just insulation and goes inbetween the walls. That is all. They are 2 different animals. The other fiberglass is like a cloth that is used with polyester resin in moulds to make boats(mainly) The Chevrolet Corvette is made of fiberglass (mainly because they could not bend metal to those extremes for the body the same fiberglass is used (always with the polyester resin to make a host of other things such as lawn furniture and to make structures like Disneyland and other stuff.

loose polyester is fine. it normally comes in sheets, simply spray some ados on the inside of the box and stick the polyester, or just use a gun stapler. fiberglass is fine, i normally wrap it in some real thin cloth to prevent stray fibers finding their way into the voice coil. All you should need is about 1-2 polyfill around the box. at bare minimum you can get away with only dampening three of the six surfaces, so for each undamped surface, the opposite surface is damped, eg top, back, and one side. I always do all surfaces inside. as for the port so long as there arent any loose chunks then it should be fine

If you can cut a very small piece off, burn it. Burned wool has a distinctive sharp smell. Burned cotton smells pungent. Burned polyester, nylon etc. tend to melt and look like melted plastic. You can burn small pieces of material you know to be wool and cotton to learn their distinctive smells.

I think the family consensus is correct. Beading on leather is more difficult, but it does last longer. If you use a heavy fabric, it is easier, and lasts pretty well too, but leather is better.
