Q:Hello ParentsCould you please advice me on buying a vacuum cleaner for my baby's car seat. I was going to buy dyson's hand held one but the review said the battery time was only 4-5minutes after 3hrs of charging, therefore looking for something else that is good and handy and easy to store.thanks for your reply.
we've had 4 hand held vacuum cleaners from the ?100 dyson one to a ?22.00 store brand and theyve all been rubish. youre better off buying a proper one with plenty of attachments and a extension lead.
Q:Me and my boyfriend have quite long hair. Mine to my waist, his almost halfway down his back. Very thick. The problem is we always destroy vacuum cleaners, from all the hairs we shed. Any ideas for special vacuum cleaners, tips, etc?
Get a good quality vacuum, use it often enough so it doesn't have to handle a lot of hair at one time, and clean hair away from the rotating brush and belt often. Every vacuum there is will have the same problem of long hair gumming up the belt but a good one will handle it somewhat better. And I mean one that costs more than $200. You get what you pay for.
Q:I have a habit of asking weird questions, but I think it is interesting how different regions/areas of people have different ways of saying/naming things. For instance, where I'm from, we call vacuum cleaners 'sweepers' and apparently other people don't. And then there is the whole 'pop' and 'soda' difference (I stick with pop). Oh one last thing, would you call it making dinner or fixing dinner? Right, so this question is kind of vague-- but what phrases are odd to you when you visit a different area? I'm just exploring the language differences... so any discussion or anything would be interesting!
some are vernacular and others colloquialisms. In the Midwest you'd say making dinner. In the south or southwest, fixin' dinner. We called vacuum cleaners Hoovers since they were the most popular in the 1930's. Sweepers were usually made by Bissell, and were un-powered. Lunch was dinner, and dinner was supper in Oklahoma.
Q:The vacuum cleaner is a Toshiba brand (VC-702EX). I tried checking the local hardware shops but I can't find it anywhere. They are only selling filters for new models of vacuum cleaners. I can't even find the local Toshiba distributor here.
You okorder , but try asking the hardware store to special order a case for you. They normally have a special order department.
Q:One of my dogs loves it.. I just vacuumed him for about 10 minutes.. he was in heaven! My other two are afraid of the vacuum... lol
It's good to be informed of this, another difference 'twixt dogs and cats. Cats universally flee the room faster than a speeding thought, when a vacuum is turned on--sometimes if it's even just brought into the room! But they are fixated magically by those little penlight laser beams, if you whirl the light around on the rug. I wonder what dogs feel about those laser lights, and how they respond? And I now have an idea. Could I train the kitty cats to flee the room in terror if I conditioned them by playing the laser light and then immediately turning on a vacuum cleaner?!? What do you think? :-)
Q:Can poor people own Dyson vacuum cleaners?
They can only dream, hahahahaha *gently strokes my Dyson vacuum* Jealous much?
Q:I need one new wheel for my Panasonic vacuum, Its a eco-max. Model MC-UL592. I have tried to contact Panasonic but after nearly 40 minutes on hold without even speaking to anyone i gave up. If you know any sites that sell wheels please tell me as i can only find ones that sell other parts.

Q:Where are DYSON vacuum cleaners made?
James Dyson set up the Dyson company. In June 1993, he opened a research centre and factory in Wiltshire. Initially, all Dyson vacuum cleaners and washing machines were made in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England. In 2002, the company transferred vacuum cleaner production to Malaysia. As Dyson was the only major manufacturer in Wiltshire, this move aroused much heated condemnation in the British press. Despite promises that washing machine production would continue in the UK, that portion of production was moved to Malaysia a year later. Nearly 800 British manufacturing jobs were lost; however, Dyson's research and development (and the resultant technical jobs) remains in Wiltshire.
Q:Now one nipple is slightly larger than the other. How is this problem resolved? Can it be fixed?
well just tell him to do it to the other nipple with the vacuum and then he can get them the same size he Will just have large nipples that's all ,at least they will be the same size
Q:There are many other things in our houses that make a racket, and the dogs and kitties are alright with them, but, drag out the Hoover, and, wow!, it's as if you were coming after them with a chainsaw. Why is this?
I think it depends on the individual animal, but most are indeed afraid of the vacuum. As others have already said, it's loud and close to the floor. It's strange, though, that I've had a couple of ferrets who only cared about one particular vacuum, but when we got a new vacuum, just ignored it. It seemed to be that only a certain frequency of sound would freak them out -- any other frequency was okay. Strange. Generally speaking, though, I have had many animals who were terrified on the thing, but I've also had animals, ferrets and dogs specifically, who would attack it. So it's fight or flight. Either way, they seem to view the big noise as a threat.
