Q:I have a house cleaning business, we clean 2 homes a day and after buying 14 vacuum cleaners in the past 2 years I am done with spending money on vacuums that don't hold up or are 2 heavy or have so many filters to clean that you spend your evenings doing that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what vacuum we should buy? Just like you the house's we clean have an array of flooring, wood, tile, oriental rugs, carpet. Please help with your experience Thanks!!
As a landlord/construction maintenance supervisor we used many distinctive instruments, however the longest enduring became the Oreck. this is mild, efficient, and common to circulate. In 20 years, I purely offered 2 of them.
Q:We are looking into buying a new vacuum, I are newly married I really don't know what a good vacuum is since I don't have much experience taking care of a home by myself. Our price range is $0-$200. We live in apartments so the carpet is low grade and we don't have much storage. I wanted something compact, has a hose so I can vacuum around the sofa. I also don't really want to buy online since most vacuums cost $20s in shipping. What is your opinion is the best vacuum and is there any other features that I might want that I don't know I want? lol. Thanks a bunch!
Don't believe the hype on Dyson vacuum cleaners. Although a fantastic vacuum cleaner, they are well overpriced. You are really buying the brand name. The Dyson Ball is the most maneuverable vacuum cleaner on the market. Its very light weight therefore has problems extracting dirt. Very poor performing from that perspective. Even consumer reports ranks Dyson vacuum cleaners low. Last month I actually purchased a DC-17 and Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic to test. The Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic outperformed the Dyson on a dense frieze carpet. The Hoover was mainly better at extracting dust from the carpet. I believe the Hoover Windtunnel + Cyclonic still sells for about $195.00.
Q:I have carpet all throughout my house, white carpet! I had 4 upright vacuums in the last 2 years. My first vacuum cleaner was a dirt devil and it would pick up stuff, then throw them back. The second was the same one, I thought that the first one messed up. My third vacuum was a Bissell and it picks up really good, but it gets clogged and I had unclogged it alot of times so I just got sick of it and threw it away. Now I just bought a eureka vacuum and it worked really really good but now it's not picking anything up. Now I just don't know what vacuum to get, because I had some many. Please suggest some really good vacuum cleaners. Thanks, :)
Dyson and Oreck. Not sure what your budget it though
Q:Our vacuum cleaner brush roller is not working. My husband has already tried to fix it himself, but he can't find out what's wrong. We've already replaced the belts and the brush roller doesn't seem to be worn down or missing any pieces. Does anyone have any idea how much it might cost to get it fixed if I take it into a vacuum repair shop? The vacuum is only a year old and everything else works fine, the roller just isn't rolling.
This may sound silly, but it happened to me. Our vacuum brush roller stopped working, too. Turned out that the sliding switch that gave the bare floor/carpet option wasn't fully engaged. If you have a switch like that, check it. Also, if you still have the manual for it you may want to check under the troubleshooting section or look on their website. At any rate, I take my vacuum cleaners to Sears for repairs. It usually runs me $60.00 - $80.00, depending on the problem. You may want to shop around. Ask people in your area who they go to. Sears is more expensive, but they're reputable and stand behind their work. Hope this helps!
Q:Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
because we except our vacuum's to do what they are made for. To pick stuff up off the floor. I'm not saying I except it to pick up a ball of yarn, but a stray thread from a sweater or something should go in!
Q:for the cordless onesTHanks!:)
Old vac's like the BD Dustbuster (which I have) use Nickel Cadmium cells. Not sure about new models but NiCd's are cheaper than newer alternative NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride).
Q:When did Amish people stop using elephants as vacuum cleaners?
Due to the difficulty to empty the vaccum bags. The elephants got constipated and died. No matter how often you tell the kids to clean their toys off the floor because the elephants are going to come through, they never really did.
Q:Which do you own more of?
Broom, because I don't own a vacuum. =))))))
Q:I just bought Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaners for $1400. The salepersons were here for 5 hours doing their demo.I kind of am changing my mind I have had it for less then 2 hours. The paper says that I have 3 days to change my mind. Should I keep it or take it back?Is it hard to take it back?
Take it back!!! Kirbys are cumbersome and not worth the money paid for them! I'm stuck with mine and always dread vacuuming!!!
Q:my son is Absolutely terrified of vacuum cleaners even if its off hes ok as long as its put away he used to love it ive never chased him with it or anything ive tried letting him touch it his father has even tried we have tried letting our son push it but he wont all he does is scream shake and try to get away i don't know what to do i cant just go with out vacuuming and i don't have anyone that can just come over for the day to help ive tried vacuuming when hes asleep but it wakes him up any suggestions and no rude comments im just wondering if i should by him a toy vacuum and then maybe tell him to help mommy and just to let you know he is alot smarter than the average 8 month old he is already saying scentences like have a nice day i love you where you at how are you doing and some others please help it hurts to see hes that terrified of vacuums and that i have to do it
sounds like he's been traumatized. could he have watched a toy or something get sucked up? try to let him see you can't get sucked up. put your hand under it or over the hose and show him it's ok. let it just sit in the living room for a few days and don't turn it on. just my two cents. good luck
