- Bissell makes a Pet formula for steam extracting machines. It is about $20 and it smells great. I have 3 cats and a dog. I use it with my steamer a lot.

- Yes, I worked in a carpet store for 8 years and what we told customers is to have it loose laid meaning get a roll that doesn't need seaming and can go right under the molding around the walls if you don't want the carpet tacks to mess up the wood. If you're not concerned about that then just have it laid over the floors. Best wishes
- Q:Our small office currently has tiles (vinyl, I think). I wonder if it would be beneficial to have floor carpet installed. What are the pros/cons of having that carpet put in? We'll stay here at least a year or two. Every desk (4 right now, will be adding 2 more) has a laptop or computer, monitor. All workstations connect by WiFi so it's just the power cords that are unsightly. We have guests/clients visit the office less than 5 times a month. We often have conference calls -- will the carpet help with soundproofing? And will the carpet help keep the place cool and complement the A/C?
- Carpet will sound proof some, but it will also bring a some static electricity. Carpet, a short, commercial grade level loop will hold up well to the use of office chairs running back and forth over it if it is glued down. Also, you could purchase those plastic forms that the chair can roll on which will help reduce the static. For an office, I would not use anything lighter in weight than a 20 oz. or 22 oz. and that's the bare minimum. When your company reaches it's final geographic location, then I would invest in a 28+ oz. carpet. Also, some commercial carpet comes with its own rubber backing attached and it is sealed so that when they glue it down, the glue will not come up through the carpet. Since you are leasing/renting, I would suggest your carpet be power-stretched in over a good 20 oz. pad at the very least. About the wires...At some of the office supply stores you may be able to pick computer wire bundlers. I sometimes see them advertised on TV. They are fairly inexpensive and wrap around several wires at one location thus eliminating the tangle of wires. They are still somewhat visible but better contained and come in a couple of different colors.. As with any AC, it cools off everything in the room not just the people. The more the AC has to cool, the harder it will work. Get my drift? No matter what you chose, there are pros and cons. You just have to be willing to make concessions for either choice. - Q:I survived tropical storm fay but now have 3 wet spots of rug...my sister said i need to pull the rug up to dry them spots but it's not pratical without replacing it all and i can't afford that..I have a box fan on the spots to dry the rug out..won't that work?
- Rent a rug doctor or some type of cleaner to suck most of the moisture then use the box fan to dry the rest. It'll take too long and mold will develop the way you're doing it.

- Hi, former floor covering business owner here-yes you can purchase carpet glue and a syringe from Home Depot, Lowes, possibly Menards. If you are unable to find it there ask a local carpet store if they would sell you some. Tell them it is in a commercial area and is a safety hazard. They generally do not want to do the carpet repair for you and consider the job too small, and if they did they would charge a large labor fee. It could be that the surface (debris left on floor)the glue was originally placed on was not prepared properly or the environmental conditions(too cold, too hot) were not favorable. Also,perhaps the glue or carpet was defective. We were surprised to receive so many defective products and carpet and constantly found that we would have to consult our area representative to rectify customer complaints. - you could use bleach but that would just stain the rug. if the spot has dried,wet the spot slightly then pour some bicarbonate of soda down.leave for a while (over night or a few hrs) that will draw the smell out. brush the soda of once you've left it for a while. then clean it with a anti bac carpet cleaner and pat dry.if its small enough you could put it in the washing machine. if the smell is still lingering coffee is good for removing smells. put in down dry on dry fabrics leave again for a while then hover off,you might have to do this a few times,but it should work! hope that helps xxxx
