By definition a POA gives you authority to do something for someone elsemake medical decisions, open/close accounts, transact other matters 'as if you were that person'. You would not be a signatory on the account and your social security number would not appear anywhere. Acting as a POA has no effect on your own assets. Doing what you suggest for the purpose expressed is illegal. Unless the amount of the judgment is huge and a forensic accountant/investigator is in hot pursuit, it's unlikely an account in your name would suffer attachment unless the bank is known to the creditor. It's not like an APB is sent out to all banks, everywhere to be on the lookout for any accounts belonging to John Doe residing at xxx with ssn of nnnnn. The banking industry really evolved out of a process of lending money out at interest. The Medici family was not the first into banking but seemed to figure out how to be more successful at it than many others. If you cannot work out where is bank one you stand little chance Of a correct diagnosis.

If I don't pay my electric bill sometimes the power company will remove the meter to prevent me from illegally doing something to steal power. I amy also not be paying my mortgage and the bank may end up owning it. They may try to sell it without hooking it up to power because they don't care to even find out the condition of any appliance. Most listings like this will allow you to go thru a certain procedure and pay out of your pocket to hook it up for the inspection and then disconnect it afterwords if you don't buy it. Ask the listing agent or ask your buyer agent.

The wave power is not a good option for the Great Lakes. Although you could generate some power, I don't believe that it would be a viable option for the cost to energy produced ratio. The waves just don't have the umph as the ocean. Of course, if you had the capital for the wave power, given enough time you could pay back the investment easily. Wind power though would be great solution there. Wind power provides more energy than our current solar-power technology, and you can be charging your battery bank overnight, as well as during the day.

One issue you are facing is that anything with a motor is going to have induction power needs, which need a lot of extra amps to get them going, so you will need extra energy and amps to kick the unit on. For that, I wouldn't let the unit cycle because the kick-on's would really eat battery faster. Second issue is that converting electricity to chemical battery energy is a loss of energy, not to mention the conversion from DC to AC. The conversion rate is around 85%, so you lose about 15% unless you spend top dollar on the equipment to get you closer to 95%. All batteries also suffer from some sort of degradation effect so you have to keep them constantly charged to keep them ready, which if for frequent power outages would be a good idea, if for fun kind of expensive.
