6.Conditions of use
Pumps used in the following conditions should be continuously to work properly:
1. For water pumps suitable medium, medium temperature shall not exceed + 40°C
2. The medium PH value between 6.5 ~ 8.5
3. The volume of medium containing solid impurity is less than 0.1%, the size is not more than 0.2 mm
4. The power frequency 50 hz, voltage for single-phase 220 v, 380 v, three-phase voltage fluctuation range for rating of 0.9 to 1.1 times
5. Diving depth of no more than 5 m, is not suitable for irrigation and drainage of sewage and chemicals.

- water pumps are never an easy fix. most the time you have to take the fan off, and the radiator as well so a person has room to work. MOST water pumps are in front of the motor, towards the bottom. If you follow your radiator hoses you will find it.

- So far the only other answer is dead wrong. Your Bayliner has a raw water pump mounted inside the boat. Depending on HP it might be on the front of the crankshaft, or opposite the alternator on the AQ120-140 motors. Then there is a second water pump, which circulates the water through the block. There is no 3rd water pump. None of the Volvo engines have a water pump in the stern drive. I repeat none! The Raw water pump is a rubber impeller. The Thermostat can also be blocked and cause overheating. In some cases it's actually rust/crud that block the exhaust elbows which in turn blocks flow. If you run it on a flush attachment you might be able to check blockages by the amount of water exhausted from the transom/drive. You can edit your question with your specific engine. It takes 7 to 10 min to replace the water pump impeller. You do not have to prime the water pump....ever. Do not however run with out water. Either being in the lake,Bay. ocean, or using the correct flush attachment.

- Water pump on that car is behind timing belt . Get a good manual and read up on it . Also , be sure and change seals . There is one right there that some times will just start leaking . Use to manage a repair shop and we did a ton of those cars . Not a bad idea to change timing belt as you will have it off anyway . Also check out the tensioners while your there .
- Q:I'm using an old Mitsubishi Lancer. Recently I changed my water pump it was leaking.To me it looked like a piece of metal, with a small fan thing (not motorized) How can it fail? - if the plug was jammed then the most likely cause was some type of sealant someone put in the radiator to fix a leak......this is a prime example of why I say never to use the sealers in your engine....... what happened to your water pump is really rather simple......the waterpump (WP) is a simple device that spins and has bearings......the coolant you buy in the store has lubricants in it to keep the waterpump luricated.....the sealer that was put into the cooling system sealed of the passages the coolant uses to lubricate the WP bearings......this created too much friction and wore your bearing out causing the pump to fail!!!!!!......you need to flush the cooling system thoroughly several times to get all the sealer out......even then it will take a little luck and lots of praying for the sealer not to plug your engine water jacket and cause overheating!!! good luck!!!
- Q:I currently have a gould 1/3 horse jet water pump and a rusted pressure tank that I would like to replace. There are two bathrooms, both with showers, 2 bathroom sinks and the kitchen sink, as well as the washer. What horse power should I have for 5 faucets and what size pressure tank would be sufficient? The shower in the upstairs bathroom hardly has pressure at all with the current pump and pressure tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

- Q:can a failing water pump sound like rattling or popcorn until the motor begins to over heat? the sound is nearthe waterpump. it goes away once the temp starts to overheat.the temp will get near redline then go down to normal and then start creeping up again. thanks for any replies.
- I wouldn't do that one very often. It could be the impellers on your water pump (broken or seized)..in which case it will need replacing

- i've always gone by the 30 second rule. even a NEW or emptied for winter motor that must completely fill, 30 seconds should be long enough. if it hasnt begun pumping by that point, i turn it off and give it some time to cool while i double check everything. then i might give it a full 45 seconds. but it wont overheat in less then a couple of minutes. and if its not pumping with the hose hooked up, the impeller is probably bad already anyways. however, if you do even get it near warm, its already hotter then you think it is where the heat is produced, the cylinders, and where you have tight clearances on fast moving parts, the cylinders and pistons. and if it gets too hot, major damage is quickly done. BTW, service period on a merc impeller is always 100 hours or 3 years. or NOW, before the motor is damaged, if unsure of when it was last done. when the impeller is less then $50 (and about an hour labor, if paying for it) and a new motor is THOUSANDS, you cant replace it too often. dennis, you have NO clue. i suggest getting one before you ruin the motor in your own boat. and in the meantime, keep your bad advice to yourself.
