Q:DIY, buying solar panels, room is barely 200 sq. ft. have a 5000 btu air conditioner, how many watts do I need, thinking of buying 75 watt solar panels, have space on the roof.

Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of dust or dirt?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of dust or dirt. However, the presence of dust or dirt on the solar panels can reduce their efficiency by blocking sunlight and creating a barrier between the panels and the sun. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the panels are necessary to ensure optimal performance in such areas.
Q:I'm building a solar panel for the first time and have the tabbed solar cells. I put together 4 strings of 9 cells. And the cells are each 0.55V, 3.6A.Because I'm going to be using the panel indoors and leaning it up against a window pane, I put them in a 24x36 inch poster-size frame. The frame has a plexiglass cover and a thick cardboard backing. My question to you is this. Will the cardboard backing up against the metal underside (positive side) of the solar cells be ok? I don't know if it may catch fire or if holes may burn through when there's full sun.My guess here is it should be ok. But maybe I'm wrong. If I am wrong, or if something should be put in between, please let me know what I should use. Thanks everyone!

Q:Can solar panels be used for powering an electric fence?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power an electric fence. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be stored in batteries or used directly to power various devices, including electric fences. This off-grid solution is eco-friendly and cost-effective in areas without access to electricity.
Q:If this was sold back to the grids what would be the profit i would stand to make per day on energy received in these panels? How did you come up with this answer?
Considering capital outlays, such a system might never recover its initial investment. That's why we don't see such small photovoltaic plants popping up around the country - the economic case isn't there. One of the problems is that you would have to sell your electricity wholesale, at a ridiculously low price like 2 cents / kWh. If you were displacing electricity that you would otherwise use, then the financial case is different. Retail electricity could be 20 cents / kWh, 0 times as much, and you could get your money back over time, and start to make a profit. I've assumed you're in the US, with no special feed-in tarrifs. If you're in a country with a premium rate for solar-generated electricity, the business case could be very different.
Q:I bought a pack of OEM mini solar panels that produce 4.2v and 22mA and I was just wondering how many LED's I could hook up to one mini solar panel? I currently have one green LED with a resistor on the one panel but was wondering how many I could possibly run off of one panel?
Typically LED's run off low voltage and 20mA or so of power (it depends what kind of led you have). That being said if one of your solar panels only provides 22mA of power then your circuit would have to be a series circuit for you to connect more than one. In a series circuit the current supplied of 22mA will go through each LED whereas a parallel circuit the current would be divided for each subsequential led. So in your case i can see you getting away with 3 or so led's before the voltage drop across each led will cause the voltage to be insufficient enough to drive anymore. Keep in mind the LED's will turn on but the first one will be bright then next one not as bright and so on. If you opted out and bought a solar panel with 200mA and 4V you could wire the led's in parallel and get 0 led's to turn on with the same brightness or intensity. Hoped that helped!
Q:Can solar panels be used for powering security systems?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power security systems. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a sustainable and reliable source of power for various applications, including security systems. By harnessing solar energy, security systems can operate efficiently and independently without relying on traditional electrical grids.
Q:If I wanted to add solar panels to my home to produce on average, 8 kWh of electricity daily, how much do you estimate it would cost using state of the art technology?I live in Virginia (Washington DC Metro Area), and I have Dominion Power. I pay the following electric rates:Jun-Sep $0.0904/kWhOct-May $0.0776/kWhAnnual Ave: $0.0824/kWhDistribution charges add on approximately another $0.0228/kWh.How long would the ROI for an 8 kWh/day solar system be?
Figure 8 hours of sun per day, so 8 kW-hr is a rate of kW, which is a medium sized panel, probably not enough to operate your house totally, unless you have a very small unit. Averaged over 24 hours, that is power at a rate of only 300 watts, enough for a TV. Average US home use is .2 kW, which over 24 hours is 29 kW-hr, plus you need extra for cloudy days, peak demands, and to charge batteries. You have to decide off-grid or on-grid, and if you want to (and are allowed to) sell excess power to the power company. Off gird, the cost of batteries and charge controller are a large part of the cost. On-grid, you have to purchase equipment approved by the power company to match your power with the grid. Panels will cost about $3 per watt, so for 000 watts that is $3000. Double that for installation, then add in cost of charge controller, inverter, batteries, etc. The last items depend on your alternatives, see paragraph above. .
Q:if i was to put a solar panel (sp) just outside of the earths atmosphere ans another solar panel (sp2) 0km away towards the sun. which one would generate more power (sp or sp2)? and how much more? is there a ratio to work out the power output and distance from the sun? would the 0km distance between the panels make a large difference in power output?many thanks in advance
