3) What is the difference of Wilton Carpet and Axminster carpet
Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

- For that priced carpet, budget a minimum of 3$ a s/f for that carpet to be installed with a basic 5 1/2 or 6 pound pad. . Doing those measurements you have 336 s/f. Budget a minimum 1000$. Some times places like HD have specials to install whole house for 99$. This will bring costs down a lot. Closer to the 800$ range. Always budget a bit more for any surprises such as disposal of the old. Rip up if your not doing it and the outside chance of sub floor repair, etc. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. - Nope, once the carpet is burned you are screwed. Sorry, I have had personal experience with this! I set a pot of burning popcorn on my carpet (don't ask, please) and it melted the fibers in the carpet so there was nothing I could do about it.

- As a professional carpet cleaner this comes up a lot. Our policy is we will try a spot/stain or two (usually the worst) to give you an idea of what the carpet will turn out like. If you don't think it will turn out the way you like that's it we leave. No reputable carpet cleaner will guarantee a spot or stain will come out until they try, because they can't tell for sure until they try. A carpet cleaner can tell if some stains are likely to come out but cannot guarantee it. As an incentive to get your lanlord to pay for the carpet cleaning you can point out carpet cleaning is tax deductable for a landlord.(which is why mony landlords ask you for the reciept, for their files of course, if you get the carpets clean) but thats another story

If you happen to have some leftover pieces from the installed carpet you could cut the damaged part of carpet out with a carpet knife and insert a matching piece of carpet in it's place. Other than that you could possibly try to re-stain it with some fabric dye, but it's very hard to find/create an exact match. There are also fabric markers available that could possibly be used to re-color the stain, but honestly I think she needs to fess up to the mishap.
