Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q:how do i unbend a rug and keep it from wrinkling?
My girfriend used to actually iron down the corners of her rug! As for wrinkling, it's probably not a very thick or heavy rug, you might have to ( the iron again!) a rubber type backing
Q:Is there anyway to make a rug?
Yes. If you are going to use it the full size that it is now, all you have to do is go to the fabric store and purchase rubber rug backing so it won't slip on the floor when stepped on. The rubber gripping is best sewn on either by machine or hand and try to stitch it throughout the back, not just along the edges or at the corners so that it won't rip when you launder it. Another way to use it is a rug is to purchase two sided carpet tape. The tape sticks to the floor and then you press the rug onto it holding it in place.
Q:How can I remove soot from carpet?
Have you tried oxy clean or some kind of de greaser? sometimes I mix clothes detergent and water and scrub the area and dab with a cloth to keep from spreading it. Then again i wash with oxy clean and then use some fabric softener with water to rinse it. Good luck.
Q:How do I dry my carpet?
Suggest to use a wet/dry shop vac to suc up the water/moisture ,then use fans and a dehumidifier.
Q:How to clean a handwoven rug?
Handwoven and hand knotted are not the same thing. Flat rugs woven on a loom may be weft or warp faced (the back and forth or the up and down threads are predominately what you see.) Hand knotted rugs have each thread or yarn looped through a mesh backing and passed under itself to create a firm stable pile. Stiff bristles abrade carper fiber, especially flat woven rugs. This is true whether the bristles are stationary in a straight suction tool or on a spinning roller. Carpet professionals will tell you not to use a 'beater bar' on a fine rug. A brushroll IS NOT A BEATER BAR, though it is mislabeled in parts inventories, vacuum manuals and catalogs all the time. A brushroll may HAVE a beater bar as part of its construction. A beater bar is a bar that spirals around the roller so a different point contacts the carpet at each instant. The best beater bars were metal, and smooth. There was no way for them to damage a rug because the bristles were soft. The famous Hoover slogan It Beats as it Sweeps as it Cleans was an accurate description of the cleaner's functioning. These vacuum cleaners were designed to clean hand-knotted rugs. It is the only type of rug people had, except for lightweight rag rugs. Sadly, beater bars have fallen into disuse, primarily because people are no longer educated about vacuum cleaners, and purchase them on the basis of color, price, styling, and amps. If you can acquire an old Hoover, grab it. If you do nothing but clean your Asian rugs with it, it will be worth it. Kirby makes a soft bristle roller brush that is made for delicate carpets. If you have a Kirby and wish to use it on delicate rugs, you would do well to purchase a second rug nozzle (used) and keep the delicate roller brush installed in it to avoid switching the brush all the time.
Q:How do I dye a wool rug border?
I have worked with Rit dyes quite frequently and although they are good dies for natural fibers, I am not sure painting a boarder will net the results you desire. First of all, the dye has to be mixed with salt. Because you will not be able to rinse and spin the dye out of he rug, that salt will just remain in your rug when the dye has dried. This may leave salt crystals in your rug along with making it quite stiff. And,because the dye is wet, it will certainly bleed outside of the boarders of the rug. Another problem is the dye bleeding onto the floor causing permanent damage. Even if you can jump over these obstacles, the dye will remain in the rug, full strength because it can not be rinsed and spun out, so it can easily transfer the color from the rug to your shoes to other areas of the house. And, heaven forbid, if the rug gets wet at a later date it will reactivate the dye and boy I will hear you cursing from here. So, you see, using this type of dying process is really full of challenges and there is too much to go wrong so I do not think it is worth the risk. However, there may be other dyes I am unaware of. Do an internet search on dyes and also rug dying to get some helpful hints and possible products that will net you the results you are after. I have lots of resources that I will check on and edit my answer if I get more information.
Q:My carpet is so stained! Help!!!?
the stains go into the pad.....and when you shampoo it, it only removes the surface stains, then the stains in the padding seep up through the carpet.. you can forget kool-aid stains ever coming ouy of carpet.. you can replace the pad, then shampoo the carpet yourself. or put tile or laminate flooring in the room where the children are.laminate flooring has come down in price.

Q:Removing crease in throw-rug?
I have no idea if this will work or if it was part of what you have already done. But what if you washed it or at least got it very wet, then hung it on a clothes line (maybe you can rig something up in the shower) with weights on it? Your line would need to be pretty taut but it might be worth a try. I never thought about creases in rugs but I have several in the garage that are now bent so it's something I will likely need to figure out at some point ... or toss the rugs when I move.
Q:Remove odor from area rug?
Here is what I would do: Step 1: Wash the patio until it is very clean--use a tiny bit of dish soap if you have to. Step 2: Lay the rug out on the patio and get a good carpet shampoo and clean the rug outside on the patio (no water tracked through the house) with the garden hose. Step 3: Hang the rug in a safe clean area to dry. Try to avoid areas where kids and pets could knock it down or get it dirty. Also, avoid hanging it somewhere where dirt could get blown onto it. Remember, the sun can cause discoloration. Step 4: After rug is dry, bring inside and place back on the floor in the respective place. Spray the rug with Febreeze fabric refresher until it is damp. It should dry within 2-3 hours (max) and it will be fresh and clean. Tip: If it is supposed to rain or it looks/smells like it is going to rain, don't wash the rug. You need to allow it adequate time to dry. You will have a mildew smell in the rug if you don't. Also, if there is no moving air outside and it is really humid, the rug could still get a mildew smell. Make sure that the place that you choose to hang the rug to dry has moving air. Good luck! I hope I helped!!! :)
