Q:Why can't sprinkler system and hydrant system share water pump in fire fighting system?
The design code of sprinkler system GB 50084 - 2001 (2005 Edition) stipulates that the sprinkler system shall be provided with an independent water supply pump, that is, the water pump shall not be shared with the hydrant system. The aim is to ensure the reliability of the water supply and prevent interference.See the code for design of automatic sprinkler system, GB 50084 - 2001 (2005 Edition), 10.2.1 and the corresponding provisions of the following interpretation.
Q:I just replaced my starter on my mustang and i when i took it out for a test drive i noticed the engine temperature rising. i drove for maybe 2 minutes max and when i parked the car it had a small amount of white smoke coming out of the engine so i let it cool down, and when it cooled down i checked the radiator, it had absolutely no anti-freeze, which is weird because i had just put a gallon of 50-50 anti-freeze maybe a week ago. So to test it i put 3 cups of water in the radiator turned her on and water was spilling from the water pump. So me and my dad have concluded we have to replace the water pump. I called up Autozone and they have a water pump replacement kit for $70. We don't have money too pay for the labor so can some1 please give me a step by step guide to replacing the water pump.
Drain the engine cooling system. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Loosen water pump pulley bolts. Remove the accessory drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley. Remove the upper and lower radiator hose. Remove the heater hose. Remove the 12 attaching bolt and remove the water pump. Clean and inspect gasket mating surfaces. To install: Install the water pump. Use a new gasket and tighten the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm). Install the heater hose. Install the upper and lower radiator hose. Install the water pump pulley. Install the accessory drive belt. Install water pump pulley bolts. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Fill the cooling system. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
Q:I have a 1998 ford taurus. It started to over heat so i turned on the heater full blast and it didn't get hot. so i put antifreeze in it and i turned it on and it seemed ok but it started to over heat again and the tank for the antifreeze looked like the cap was going to pop off. I was just down the road from my house so i thought if i drove slow i could make it home and it turned on ok but when i put it in drive it stalled. Does this mean its the water pump??????
Its over heating because either your thermostat is messed up, bad water pump, head gasket, bad radiator.... but sense it was empty on fluid you could have a possible leak in the hoses or a head gasket or your water pump is leaking engine coolant. for head gasket check if theirs water in your oil ( take off the engine oil cap and see if theirs a white foam on it) if their is then your head gasket is screwed, to check if your water pump is working start the car after it has been sitting for a long time so its cold, touch the black hose thats ontop going into the radiator ( usually the biggest one you can see) and squeeze it while the car is running, if you feel water moving then your water pump is ok, you might have to wait a while for the car to get hot a little to check....cant think of anything else right now as im sleepy.
Q:How to install circulating water pump for cooling tower?
Water pump, cold water pump and hot water pump, the specific installation depends on the location of the cooling tower and the location of the heat exchanger, high cooling tower position, the need for hot water pump, heat exchanger position high. The cooling tower, cooling tower (Cooling tower), is using water as coolant, from a system to absorb heat emissions to the atmosphere, heat exchanged to produce steam, steam heat to volatile evaporation dissipation, convection and radiation heat transfer principle to disperse industrial waste heat or refrigeration and air conditioning to reduce evaporation cooling device therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the system, device as a barrel. The cooling tower can be divided into natural ventilation cooling tower and mechanical ventilation cooling tower according to its ventilation mode.
Q:How do I change the water pump on a 2003 PT Cruiser. What do you do with the timing belt and gears?
if you have 100,000 miles on it, and haven't changed the timing belt, CHANGE IT NOW. Recommended change at 100,000 miles. Mine broke at 104,000, towing was $125, and then cost of repairs. Also recommend changing seals on xmission at same time.
Q:have a leak and want to replace the pumphave tools, any thing I should know before getting started?I intend to:drain from lower hose of radiatortake of fan ( using a 1 1/2 wrench method)do I need to remove shroud first???remove fan, remove serpentine belt then remove water pump , use a little brake cleaner to clean new pump gasket area and existing engine area, put a little gasket sealer on gasket and replace pump.put everything back on, and refill with prestone Green coolant.its what is in there now and it says dextrol only but is that necessary?, most people in the know I ask say it does not matter...hows that sound?
those are VERY complicated engines with counter balancing chafts in them.i would not have faith purely anyone with this activity, because of the fact the valves can bend actually from flawed belt installation. ere is a sequence of SPECAIL save strategies tht may be rented fro the HONDA dealership or aother Honda dedicated automobile fix center. Ther are 2 strategies in touch interior the removing of your balancer that maximum automobile shops won't have. One gadget holds the balancer, and the different removes the bolt. call around approximately this, yet understand that this may be a greater activity than maximum human beings automobile cope with actually, and screwing up can advise extra effective undesirable expenses. additionally that throughout basic terms actual HONDA areas and coolant may be used in there. NO Prestone, and no aftermarket pumps or gaskets!!! solid success!!!
Q:1997 Chevy Cavalier, 2.2 engine. In the past 2 days I noticed that my temp gauge was reading a little higher than usual but not in the danger range. I checked and nedded to add coolant. Last night it started making a chattering or maybe klunking sound. As far as I could tell it was coming from the water pump but it stopped before I could get out of the car and look to see. Now the coolant is low again. Are these signs of the water pump being bad or could it be something else?
If you don't see drip marks under your car when you come out in the morning or when it's parked, it's probably not the water pump. Either way, that coolant is going someplace. Might it be possible that you had the AC on when you heard the clunking sounds? When you have the AC on and the AC compressor comes on it puts an extra drain on the engine and makes a noticable change in the way the engine sounds. What I would do is find a way to get under the car with a flashlight and take a look around and see if anything is wet. I had a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and had all these same sort of things you are describing, so I climbed up under it and looked around and saw a drip around one of the seals on the water pump. For about three weeks I kept my eye on it and noticed the drip marks under my car. Eventually one day on a quick trip to the corner store, the pump finally went and and deluge of coolant came pouring out the bottom of my car. It could also just be a loose hose or a blown headgasket. Check your oil and see if you have any coolant in the oil (you'll be able to tell). If you do, take it to a garage ASAP or you'll be really screwed! Either way, if it's the pump you'll know it sooner or later when it blows out!
Q:I was driving when my temp gauge shot up all the way so i pulled off the next exit and my car shut off and started smoking i noticed the water pump belt was in shreds and what seemed to be anti freeze fluid and water was everywhere. I'm curious what could have broke maybe a gasket or the waterpump it's self besides just the belt?
Water pump blew up, lost your radiator fluid and broke a belt. Don't drive it, get it towed to a repair shop.
Q:I have a pontiac grand am 1996 v6 with a 3.1L 3100 SFI engine. I have a coolant leak and I think it's coming from the water pump. When the car is cool and then turned on, about 4 to 9 minutes into warming up, coolant is hitting a belt and spraying out of the car's front end. When this is happening I see that there is coolant dripping off of the waterpump housing. The coolant started to spray everywhere about 15 seconds before the radiator fan kicked in. Why would this happen when first warming up only? Can a defective thermostat cause this to happen?
It;s the water pump.
Q:Hi, my mechanic said that I need a new water pump. I have a 1994 Dodge Caravan SE. What is involved with the whole changing of a water pump? He said it would cost about $400 to $500 for the whole job. Is that correct? Were is a good place to go get one? I live in Staten Island New York. Is sears a good place for that job? What is installed when they do this job? Belts or what??? I thank you for your time and any help is greatly appreciated. I will be taking my car in this week and will leave a best answer based on the correct information. Thanks again :-)
It all depends on what size engine you have, the 3.0 is the worst and then the other two aren't as bad and 4 or 5 hundred seems like allot but these days when the garages are charging 100 an hour that probably isn't to bad specially in New York, the best place is probably the dealer.
