Q:I was wondering if someone could tell me the manufacturing date on this aircraft engine valve.
Wow Hannah! That's a cool find for sure! It appears to be possibly a valve for a radial aircraft engine as it looks very similar to ones i've seen used in Pratt+Whitney R3350's etc. It looks like it could probably date to the 1940's up thru the 1950's. Look for a Part Number stamped on the valve or on the box. After WW2 there were all kinds of manufacturers making parts for airplanes. Many were gobbled up by competitors, converted to manufacturing other products or went out of business altogether. However, a few did hang on....and I think this may be what has become of Thompson Aircraft today.... Thompson Aerospace, Inc 22431 Antonio Parkway B160-102 Rcho Sta Marg, CA 92688-2804
Q:Butterfly valve D71X-1.6C, DN50, there is no difference between C and no C? What do you mean by "concrete"?
The C indicates that the material is carbon steel and does not indicate cast iron (generally omitted)
Q:What are the major disadvantages of butterfly valves?
Shortcoming:A. operating torque is large, such as larger diameter or high pressure, it needs to be equipped with larger actuators;B. leakage is large, ordinary type is 2%C;C. as the adjustment of some butterfly valve, its rotation angle is limited to 60. Adjustable range is small.
Q:Butterfly valve common faults and treatment methods?
Three, summary:Only familiar with every detail of circulating water pump outlet valve and butterfly valve equipment, timely and thorough maintenance and strict debugging, to ensure the safety and reliability of equipment operation, to ensure the healthy and orderly operation of equipment.
Q:I got my timing belt done on a 1999 Civic Si on September 26 @ 113,699 miles. at 116,9xx miles I bent a valve on my third cylinder. How likely is it that the timing belt is the reason why this happened? I heard that if the timing belt is a tooth or so off, it could bend a valve. So is it likely that this could have happened? Anyway to check?
A TDI has no valve to piston clearance as a results of the indisputable fact that's a diesel and has a extreme compression ratio. i'm a mechanic myself and hate to slam different techs yet it truly is clearly a screw-up on his section. There are some issues that would have exceeded off even if the shop he works at is to blame for the damages. If the tensioner did bend (which I surprisingly doubt exceeded off) then he has recourse by the business business enterprise that man made the tensioner yet to be quite truthful, it truly is only no longer real. similar is going for the snatch problem. that only isn't plausible. good success.
Q:1988 volkswagon cabriolet, rabbit tried mystery oil let sit for a week having trouble with stuck valves even taken a wrenrch to manually unstick. help any suggestions 4 cyclinder car has been sitting up for about 4 years
The only reason for a stuck valve is if it bent from a thrown timing belt. Sitting 4 years will not cause valves to stick usually, because there is always some oil leakage from the head, that prevents rust. How do you know the valve is stuck? Have you done a compression test, checked the valve clearance? When you say you take a wrench to manually unstick it, it would help to know what you mean, because there is no place to put a wrench that would help unstick a valve that was stuck. You need to tell us much more.
Q:What is the difference between the installation and function of a butterfly valve and butterfly valve?
Therefore, the fully open position of the valve is determined by the position of the gate. Some gate valve, stem nut is located on the gate, the handwheel rotates to drive the stem to rotate, and make the gate lift, this kind of valve is called rotary bar gate valve, or call dark rod gate valve. The type of gate width, sealing surface configuration can be divided into wedge gate valve and parallel gate valve, wedge gate type valve can be divided into: single gate type, dual gate plate and the flexible gate type; parallel gate type valve can be divided into single and dual gate gate plate. According to the thread position of the valve stem, can be divided into two kinds of open rod gate valve and dark rod gate valve. Valve installation and maintenance should pay attention to the following: hand wheel, handle and transmission mechanism are not allowed for lifting, and is strictly prohibited. Double gate valve should be installed vertically, that is, the valve stem is in a vertical position, and the handwheel is at the top. The gate valve with bypass valve shall be opened before opening to balance the pressure difference between inlet and outlet and reduce the opening force. The gate valve with drive mechanism is installed according to the instruction of the product instruction. If the valve is constantly switched on, lubricate it at least once a month. The valve has the advantages of small fluid resistance, the sealing surface by the erosion of small and medium Chong brush. Opening and closing is more labor-saving. Medium flow direction is unrestricted, no disturbance, no pressure reduction. The utility model has the advantages of simple shape, short structural length, good manufacturing technique and wide application range. Valve faults between the sealing surface can lead to erosion and abrasion, maintenance more difficult. Larger size, open need a certain space, long opening and closing time. Complex structure.
Q:Classification of telescopic butterfly valve
(2) temperature butterfly valve. 120 C<t<450 C butterfly valve(3) normal temperature butterfly valve. One 40C<t<; 120 C butterfly valve(4) low temperature butterfly valve. One 100<t< one, 40 C butterfly valves(E) ultra low temperature butterfly valve. T< one, 100 C butterfly valve (1) clip butterfly valve(2) flanged butterfly valve(3) lug butterfly valve;(4) welded butterfly valve
Q:The difference between butterfly valve and gate valve
Wedge gate valve spool angle is generally 3~6 degrees, when forced to shut down excessive or temperature changes of the valve core is easy to die. Therefore, high temperature and high pressure wedge gate valve, in the structure have taken certain measures to prevent spool stuck. The valve in the opening and closing valve and valve seat sealing surface contact and mutual friction is always so easy to wear sealing surface, especially in close off the valve, the valve before and after the great pressure, sealing surface wear is more serious.
Q:Ok, so I took my car in for maintenance (Mustang GT convertible 2002) and the mechanic told me the valve gaskets needed to be replaced and when he gave me the estimate, they were two seperate charges for valve gaskets and valve covers, total of about $250.00 not including labor. Is he trying to rip me off cause I'm a girl by the way? Anyways, I didn't get it done cause it needed something else too and I didn't have enough money so I said I would be back in two weeks. So I called the dealership to inquire about the price and I asked the parts guy for a price on valve gaskets and he was like, I don't know what you mean, we have valve cover gaskets but nothing says just valve gaskets? I told him to give me the price anyways, thinking I would ask my brother (who hasn't tried to help me anyways) and it was $60.00 for both (I need two). How can this be if the other guy was charging me $250.00 for different parts? Help!!! Frustrated and confused, I don't know anything about cars :(
LOL. No. You don't get away that easily. The valve cover gasket only keeps oil from splashing all over the engine bay. It literally covers the valves, sealing the engine interior away from the general environment. Th head is the part of the engine that the valve cover sits on. It contains the valves, and either the camshaft or the rods that lead to a camshaft deeper in the engine, and of course the rocker assembly. You have to remove all those big bolts along the casting to break the head free, and you'll need a torque wrench to get the pressure right when you're reinstalling it. The head gasket seals the tops of the cylinders [incorporated in the bottom of the head] to the cylinders themselves [bored into the block proper.] Have fun!!!!!
