Q:Me and my friend have saved up close to $200 to put towards a heat press machine, but we have several questions. We can't buy an expensive one, we are only 12 and 13. We only need a small one because we are only buying it to heat press socks, mostly Nike Elites. First, i need some recommendations for a machine under $200 that would heat press socks.

Q:My mom and I bought a cookie press ,and it didn't seem to work very well. The dough wouldn't stick to the sheet, and then it didn't look anything like the pictures. If you know why this happened, tell me and if you hae tips, pleeeeeeeeeeez tell me.
This works if your cookie press is non-electric. Put the cookie press on the cookie sheet with the prongs or feet sitting on the sheet, turn it so enough dough is placed on the sheet. Give it a slight turn back. This should cut the dough so the cookie should stay on the sheet. Hope this helps. Lots of Luck.
Q:I weigh about 225 and I Bench Press 250 which I know is over my weight and is supposed to be good but is that really good for a 17 year old?
I was on the power lifting team in high school and was in the 101 weight class and benched 145. So I think that you are doing good. My advice to you would be to do more strength training with lighter weight that way you can lift the heavier weights with ease. try to do anywhere from 55-65% of your 1 rep max, 3-4 sets fo 12-15 reps. this should help you on your ballistic power as well as overall strength. Lifting lighter weights is not just for toning but is also for building strength. Lifting heavier, as you already know is more for building mass.also make sure not to drop below 90- degrees when performing any kind of press or fly moves. The reason being is that you have a small muscles called the superspinatus muscle that is the size of your pinky. when you drop below 90-degrees you put and undo amount of stress on that small muscle to try to lift 250, all you are doing is stressing it and once yo stress it enough you will eventually snap it and you will not be able to do bench press for a while. This is the leading cause of most shoulder injuries because people are not aware of what they are asking that muscle to do. you can strengthen this area by doing rotary cuff exercises with no more than 5 lb. weights.
Q:i pressed my mac pigments and let them dry over night, now do i actually have to take a quarter and press each one? whats the point of that? im scared to touch them i dont know if theyre dry yet or not
I pressed a bunch of my pigments. Put the quarter behind the fabric and press onto the pigment mixture. The cloth will get slightly damp, that's ok, that's just the alcohol being absorbed. Give it a couple of presses, really hard, and lift up the shirt and quarter and voila! You now have your very own pressed pigment eyeshadow! Don't worry you wont ruin it. It will make it less powdery and it will be easier to use. happy pressing!!
Q:There are many commercially availiable earth block press machines for sale. I want to make - and maybe improve if I can, on a current design so that I can produce blueprints for free distribution. Are there any sites/plans out there to get me started on making a prototype. I am a draftsperson in California. My goal is to make a full set of plans for an easily made CEB press to post online for anyone - in any country - to download for free and make their own press. The web actually has no sets of plans you can download for free. Even portions of plans I have seen have no measurements to allow someone to fabricate one. My intention was to try to find a working set of plans, that had no patent and draw them properly (I have years of CAD drafting experiance) and get them online so that people could build the presses with basic workshop tools.
You might try buying a press; disassembling it, measure the individual parts and then draft the components into a set of drawings. You can also go to the Patent Office in Washington, DC and review the files for previously patented presses and you can find ones that have expired. Or you could find a current press manufacturer and become a distributor. I've lived in a number of third world countries were block presses are used on a regular basis and they are an income producing trade. The press is considered a capital asset and giving them away would be frowned on.
Q:Also, is loose powder or pressed powder better for covering up discoloration?
A pressed powder can be applied with either a brush or a sponge. Both loose and pressed powders are used to set foundation and blot the shine. A pressed powder is what you would use throughout the day as a touchup. If you are looking for something that covers up discoloration, I suggest using a powder foundation with a sponge. This would provide enough coverage to conceal discoloration but still look natural. Hope this helps : )
Q:Do you know about Press TV?
Press TV is an English language international television news channel which is funded by the Iranian government, based in Tehran and broadcasts in English on a round-the-clock schedule. www.presstv.ir/
Q:Im entering for a debate competition, and one of the motions is This House Believes That The Press Is Depressing. It would be helpful if you guys could give your opinions both for the motion and against the motion. And any stats that you might have :)
On the face of it, the press is depressing because it reports bad news far more readily than good news. Earthquakes, murders, crashes, rapes etc as well as government weaknesses sell papers! HOWEVER this kind of news is not really depressing : quite the opposite : it cheers people up : they love reading about other people's misfortunes and criticising the govt. Communist regimes deplore negative reporting and give the readers only up-beat news, esp about their own achievements. This sounds healthy, but amounts to suppression of press freedom, which is an essential component of individual freedom.
Q:Hey,So recently hit a Bench Press plateau (Dumbbel) and I was wondering if this routine would help me break it:Old Regime:Dumbbell Press (steady build up in weight until fatigue - done LOTS of time 6-8 sets)Inclines (2-3 sets)Flys (2-3 sets)New Regime:Dumbbell Press (3 sets, one warm up, second a drop set - higher weight, third a high set)Declines (5 sets)Flys (4 sets)Maybe dropping a set in declines and flys for Push-Ups.So do you think this new routine will break my plateau and if so, how long before I start seeing more results (5-6 weeks perhaps?)
generally speaking force some new adaption through accessory work - Joe's advice is decent but I will add the concept of adjusting the load by adjusting frequency. Consider a 5x5 linear progression on a barbell bench press for example - you can use this as an accessory still - but it will allow you to shift a heavier weight rather than go for the endurance/hypetrophy training of multiple sets of 8-10. It is generally acknowledged that 3 reps is for power (such as a power clean/olympic lifts) 5 is for strength training (like starting strength/ 5/3/1 / Stronglifts/texas method) and 8-12 is body builder/hypertrophy range. I like to ensure when I plateu that I consider all of these rep ranges to provide a new stimulus to the area. Some fundamental things to also consider: Diet - particularly increasing calories, to a lesser extent, ensure you have enough carbs to burn in the session - this is generally an issue for low-carbers though, not the general population (who already eat too many carbs). I hate these people who say drink 7 litres of water every 2 minutes or you will die! (ok, exaggerating :) but you know the type...) but I would say drink a small cup with every meal/decent snack you have (assuming you have about 6) Rest - if you noticed your sleep going from a nice 8 hours to a meagre 5 + 1/2 then you need to consider going to bed earlier.
Q:Yesterday I got a travel mug from Starbucks that's a french press. Its my first time ever even seeing a french press so I'm a little confused I guess. I made a cup today and it turned out just OK, But I like cream and sugar in my coffee and I'm not sure the best way to make this yet. can anyone give me any tips...
So far I use it like an actual press and not a mug. Thus, I make the coffee and pour it on another cup when it's done. So far so good. Some people have complained about a plastic taste to their coffee if you leave the coffee in there too long (since the press has plastic parts). I've had no problems so far.
