Q:Do steam cleaning vacuum cleaners work as well as a rental from the grocery store or hiring someone?
I okorder.com/... Hope this was helpful ~~~~
Q:When were wet/dry vacuums invented?
Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa invented a vacuum cleaner in 1860, calling it a carpet sweeper instead of a vacuum cleaner. His machine did, in fact, have a rotating brush like a traditional carpet sweeper, and also possessed an elaborate bellows mechanism on top of the body to generate suction of dust and dirt. Hess received a patent (US No. 29.077) for his invention of the vacuum cleaner on July 10, 1860 British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth patented a motorized vacuum cleaner on August 30, 1901. Booth's machine took the form of a large, horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit, which was parked outside the building to be cleaned with long hoses being fed through the windows. Booth first demonstrated his vacuuming device in a restaurant that same year and successfully sucked dirt. More Americans inventors introduced variations of the same cleaning-by-suction type contraptions. For example, Corinne Dufour invented a device that sucked dust into a wet sponge; and, David Kenney designed a huge machine that was installed in a cellar and connected to a network of pipes leading to each room of a house. Of course, these early versions of vacuum cleaners were bulky, noisy, smelly, and unsuccessful.
Q:Please recommend a good & cheap vacuum for carpets and rugs.?
The best vacuum I have ever bought is my Oreck. It's light weight and I can carry it anywhere and the suction is great. I bought it used on Craigslist and I see people selling them all the time on that site. Give it a try and if there aren't any for sale put an ad in the Wanted section and state that you'll pay $50.00. Good Luck
Q:My 5 year old is scared of the vacuum is this normal?
I think all kids have some sort of weird phobias. My 5 year old is terrified of most toilets. She hates the self flushers. I have to sit on it behind her so it doesn't flush while she is going. I would suggest getting him one of those toy vacuums from the toy store. My daughter has one that actually picks up some things. If he can learn to help mommy vacuum with his own, he may not be afraid of them anymore.
Q:kirby vacuum cleaners?
Kirby's are good but they are big and bulky. Shark makes EXCELLENT vacuum cleaners.
Q:how to make a vacuum cleaners?
Get a job with a manufacturer of vacuum cleaners.
Q:Do you know anyone who collects vacuum cleaners as a hobby?
As unique and crazy as that sounds, I've never herd of such an activity. If you ask me it sounds rather odd, and pointless. I personally don't like vacuums though, they tend to make a lot of noise pollution and I just can't stand that. But, I guess all people have different things they find to their likings, but this is one thing I'll never understand.
Q:What does cleaning effectiveness mean regarding Vacuum Cleaners? What is better? Amps, Volts, Watts?
Go okorder.com If you have any more questions on this just e-mail me k.
Q:Where can I learn how to repair vacuum cleaners (all models in general)?
I got to tell you these are the easiest things to repair and maintain. Go to the library they should have more then enough information. You'll need very little tools and some brushes. Grab a few from the trash and practice with them chances are you'll be able to fix them. They are all basically the same.
Q:Vacuum cleaner problem?
sounds like you may have broken your belt when you adjusted the height. turn it over and turn it on, if the brush doesn't spin, you have to take the stupid thing apart and change the belt. this is the most common problem that people have with vacuums.
