Get a bucket place it under the P trap under the sink. Remove the compression nut on the trap and loosen the one holding the pipe in place at the wall. Drain the trap and if the line is full let it back drain into the bucket dump it in the toilet instaed of the the tub. Why the toilet ? It handles aoil and paper on a regular basis, the tub doesn't. There fore the tub drain is prone to clogging just as bad as the sink., Clean the trap out with hot water and scrub it out with a flexible brush. Run a sink tape down the drain and give it a few hardy turns and work it in and out of the drain pipe. This will dislodge most clogs and then just reassemble and flush the sink with Hot water.

It's not uncommon. Cats like the coolness of the porcelin (especially in the summer) and they like to curl up in tight places, making the sink a nice place for them. why do you think of you're exempt from cleansing because you're a guy. what is going to take place once you go away homestead or finally end up on your very own. will you never sparkling something and enable it develop right into a grimy filthy pigsty because you're a guy! bypass and get a bathing room spray and sparkling all the partitions/tiles, sparkling the bathtub,sink/bathe and cabinets and so on,. positioned bleach all around and down the john. sparkling the homestead windows too. do no longer stop till each little thing is clean. have a happy day.

They are there as an overflow drain. This is so you don't overflow the sink if you leave the water running.
