Q:Jack For Lifting Cars?
The one that comes with your car is usually a mechanical scissor jack for emergencies. The ones we mechanics use at the shop are at least 3-ton floor jacks but you don't use that to hold the car up for long periods where you have to start banging on the chassis to remove parts or have to remove the engine mounts that is really unsafe. For that case you use a floor jack, then use jack stands to hold the car up on each side, or at my shop we simply use a hydraulic lift. Sorry for getting to technical, but if you are working underneath you car ie modifying engine components and what not I STRONGLY recommend a floor jack and some jack stands. If you just need something to change a tire in an emergency from time to time a floor jack or a scissor jack is what you use. Hope this helps, best of luck.

Lift an F250 HD 4 and you probably won't see a difference in anything.

You wont get any height really cause the car will still be on the same tires. You'll have a little bit more height under the car but that's it. Also you have to remember there will be a pretty big ugly gap between your tires and the arch if you don't change the tire size.
