Q:I want to buy a full fmf exhaust system for my yamaha blaster but im not sure is it worth the money? i was thinking of just buying a fmf powercore 2 exhaust and not bothering with the muffler but then my quad would not be a powerfull without it. Just need a little advice. Thanks
get a full exhaust system for it, rejet it, do the air filter, ecu (if its got one) and a port polish. difference will be major man.
Q:I‘m looking for a exhaust, but I WANT A EXHAUST THAT IS DEEP AND LOUAD IDLE. I don‘t want a high pitch exhaust. Any tips or personal exhaust u guys have installed?
I own an 88 rx7 full race exhaust headers are Mazdatrix 2.5 then cat-back is 3 corksport. The bigger it is The louder. I spit flames and have set off car alarms. But after taking out the sound deadening its really loud for daily driving. But its straight through no cat single tip. A dual exhaust will be lower pitch, slightly quieter, and more expensive. I wouldn't recommend a 3 unless ur gonna add a turbo down the road. The stainless 304 polished from corksport is awesome. Easy to clean and fit perfect with no fab. Go on forums read reviews, look up videos for sound. With the rx8 I would do the same setup I have but 2.5 exhaust. Personally I like the high pitch but It's preference thing. Don't worry about any back pressure things ppl say. Rotarys don't have exhaust valves to over heat so it doesn't matter. If u worry about emissions or legal exhaust get a catylitic converter high flow. If not get the test pipe to replacing it. My exhaust cost $800 new and self installed on a Saturday. Make sure u get new gaskets too. Love ur rotary and be proud to have one.
Q:I have a 2004 mazda3 and i want to put in a new exhaust system to make it sound more manly and tough. What are some good reccomendations to look into getting?
u bought a chick car and want it to sound manly.lol.but honestly u can buy plenty of pre-made kits or just take it to ur local exhaust shop and have it hooked up unless u need stainless then this can b quite a bit cheaper than buying a kit and having it put onhelps if u no the guys running the shop:)
Q:I will be putting it on a 97 chevy truck with a 454 big block, also will this help fuel mileage, and what about preformace air intake will that also help mileage?
it won't make you fail, as long as you don't remove the catalytic converter or O2 sensors. smog laws don't tell you you can't modify the exhaust system downstream of the catalyst. these mufflers usually do give you a small gain in fuel mileage, however if you keep punching the gas pedal to hear the sound you won't see any gain. face it, 454's eat a lot of gas
Q:I have a 79 Ford Ranchero with a 351 Cleveland engine, the exhaust is cut right at the middle of the car where the bed of the truck is.My question is, can i just buy come glass packs and piping at auto zone and use that ?Or if i went to a salvage yard could i just cut an exhaust out of a vehicle and make it work? The way it is now it‘s way too loud.
I would take the vehicle to a local muffler shop. Ask your mechanic for a referral to a good but cheap shop. Most of the crap in local stores is cheap Chinese made mufflers. they rust from the inside out from condensation and fall apart in six months and start rattling enough to drive you crazy. there needs to be a certain amount of exhaust pipe and then a catalytic converter and a muffler. buying rusted old crap at a junkyard is not a good way to go. That dipstick answer from alex is from a guy who has never had rust and dirt fall in his eyes under a junkyard car. Bring some good safety goggles if you just have to go buy junkyard rust buckets. All the pipe should be welded to prevent leaks. And ideally you want the exhaust routed over the axle and farther back good luck
Q:I have a ‘90 Mazda MX-5 Miata. I‘m looking at buying either a Magnaflow or Borla cat-back exhaust system. Basically, I want to know which brand is considered better. Looking for deeper, louder, and more throatier sound, and also better HP increase. I‘ve seen videos of the Magnaflow exhaust on YouTube, but couldn‘t find any on Borla.
two types of auto matic trans in the 70's either 350 or 400 3 speed's no over drive trans yet.
Q:I mean even changing the exhaust makes a difference in performance.Everyone is saying that Try slip on exhausts and such. For me it‘s left me baffled?Everything of use happens in the power stroke, right? So then why is the exhaust that much of a difference?Aside cutting out the noise what other use is there for it. Let‘s say noise isn‘t a problem.Would cutting out hollow metal tube and replacing the exhaust be of any difference to the motorcycle?Would the engine be damaged by it?I Mean the exhaust is technically a free flow right?
Think of a motorcycle exhaust system as a finely tuned pipe organ. The manufacturers spend tons of money getting things just right so the engine runs at the maximum power level possible and has the broadest power band possible. There is so much more to an exhaust system then just a pipe moving the exhaust gasses away from the motor. There is a pulse that travels back up the pipe and the timing of this pulse is critical in the way the exhaust gasses are moved out of the combustion chamber. The gasses from one cylinder can actually help scavenge the exhaust gasses another if the timing and pipe lengths are correct. The mufflers and pipes all work together to put the power band in a useful RPM range that you can actually use. It might be possible to get your motorcycle to produce more horsepower with a different exhaust system but the power band might only be useable over a two hundred rpm range and everywhere else it might actually produce less power. Slip-ons are great money maker for those who produce them, and in some cases the might actually make a few extra horse power, but usually you are better off with the stock exhaust. The manufacturers spent a lot of time and money getting your system to all work together. Intake, exhaust, engine, computer, electronics and injectionthey are all tied together in today's bikes.
Q:So I have a 1998 chevy silverado 5.7 4wdI want to get dual exhaust system on itI want a low deep growl but not screaming where it is annoying. I have heard people say do a catback on it. I don‘t really know how a catback works like is it just a new cat and piped straight back or is it a new cat and new muffler obviously aftermarket that I should do. I need some suggestions
Perfect example of a wet blanketthe girl with the 'big girl blouse' comment. Lol
Q:When I set my car to neutral, and gave it LOTS of gas a black liquid exits out of the exhaust pipe. I had use a product called Guarteened to pass smog. Is this normal? And what can i do to MAKE SURE my car passes smog?
I'm guessing your car is or was running rich at one time and you have soot build-up in your exhaust system. The condensation ( which is perfectly normal ) is mixing with this soot and that is why the water is brown or black as it drips out of the tail pipe.
Q:I want to buy a dual exhaust for my 1965 Ford Mustang. I don‘t know what resonators do or what would be better help.
They further reduce the sound of the existing exhaust to a lower tone.
