- Q:Can I use a regulator from a car to regulate the voltage from a solar panel to a battery?
- solar panels will naturally produce a certain DC voltage which is what your battery needs - the current will vary based on the sun light. You need probably 4V to have some over voltage. So based on your specs look at having at least 4 V but not too much over that (tells you how many panels you need in series) I would have blocking diodes (probably the solar cell has them built in) to insure the battery does not discharge thru the panel.
- Q:Thanks
- Solar energy is a renewable energy resource and there are no fuel costs. No harmful polluting gases are produced. Disadvantages Solar cells are expensive and inefficient, so the cost of their electricity is high. Solar panels may only produce very hot water in very sunny climates, and in cooler areas may need to be supplemented with a conventional boiler. Although warm water can be produced even on cloudy days, neither solar cells nor solar panels work at night.
- Q:How do solar panels affect the aesthetics of a building?
- Solar panels can have both positive and negative effects on the aesthetics of a building. On one hand, they can enhance the visual appeal by adding a futuristic and environmentally friendly look. The sleek design of modern solar panels can be seen as an architectural statement, especially when integrated seamlessly into the building's design. On the other hand, some people may find the appearance of solar panels unattractive or incongruent with the building's overall design. However, advancements in solar technology are continually improving the aesthetics of panels, making them more appealing to a wider range of individuals. Ultimately, the impact on the aesthetics of a building depends on personal preferences and the specific design and placement of the solar panels.
- Q:where to find used solar panels?
- That's not a good idea. Solar panels wear out, and you probably won't know how worn out they are until you buy them and install them. Which is a little bit too late for most refunds. Your best bet if you're dead set on being foolish, is probably some place like craigslist.
- Q:Hello, I have been trying to go green, I Have purchase somesolar panel they are about 45watts I been putting it against my window and getting ok power out of it enough for my lights and a couple of low watts gadget (cellphone, 2v light, portable dvd) for couple of hours. But its seem to drain the 2v faster then I can charge Am I getting the most power out of my panel?Or should I place it on the roof? I'm in Texas and it gets hot and sunny the sun beam my room windows pretty good during 4pm-6pm.
- Solar panel generates fairly low, unreliable source of energy. They are most likely very expensive. Despite all of that, your window may act as a beam filter by refracting the beam or reflects them off trough total internal reflection causing a low yield of sunlight harvest. Sunlight is also necessary to hit the panel 90 degrees to harvest maximum output.
- Q:Are solar panels suitable for all climates?
- Solar panels are suitable for a wide range of climates, but their efficiency may vary depending on the amount of sunlight available. While they can still generate electricity in cloudy or colder regions, they perform best in areas with high solar insolation and minimal shading. Advances in technology have made solar panels more adaptable, allowing them to be utilized effectively in various climates around the world.
- Q:Can solar panels be used in remote areas?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in remote areas. Solar panels can harness energy from the sun to generate electricity, making them a suitable and sustainable option in areas where access to grid electricity is limited or nonexistent. Their ability to operate independently of traditional power sources makes solar panels a practical choice in remote locations, providing clean and reliable energy for various applications.
- Q:I'm part of the Sustainability group at school, the school principal is a d**k and doesn't care about the environment, he only cares about money.Me and the group will be talking in front of him and the school council (the people in-charge of the school's money) To convince them to put solar panels on the school roofs.I know that it definitely will help the school save on electricity bills, but it WILL cost a lot of money to put them in.In the end we just wanna reduce carbon emissions!HELP :)
- Installing solar cells cost money. It would swamp the capital spending portion of the school budget. I doubt the school board would put it into the budget because of the cost involved. If they did I guarantee you that, when presented to the voters, they would turn down the budget. If you really want to do something, I suggest a fund raiser, but you are probably looking at raising more than $500,000. Good luck.
- Q:What are the different types of solar panels?
- There are three main types of solar panels: monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and thin-film. Monocrystalline panels are made from a single crystal structure, offering high efficiency but also higher costs. Polycrystalline panels are made from multiple crystal structures, slightly less efficient but more cost-effective. Thin-film panels use a layer of semiconductor material, providing the lowest efficiency but the ability to be flexible and lightweight.
- Q:Can solar panels be used in commercial buildings?
- Yes, solar panels can definitely be used in commercial buildings. In fact, many businesses are increasingly installing solar panels on their rooftops or in open spaces adjacent to their premises. Solar panels are a sustainable and cost-effective solution for generating renewable energy, reducing electricity bills, and lowering carbon footprints in commercial settings.
