- Q:I have strip kitchen floor to sub floor. i am ready to install tiles. My question is: How to do the wet bed for laying ties later on.
- I m assuming yo mean a mortar bed or a mud bed for tiles. You don t want to do this for later on as you say. You want to lay tiles soon after it s set so you don t ruin the mortar bed by walking on it. This isnt something you usually just do , it takes practice and a bit of experience and is hard work but worth it when done right. A wet bed is a base of cement that the tiles are installed as you go. Old fashion method rarely used anymore. Now a mud bed is used and then a thin set is used to adhere the tile down. - Q:on this link.. uld someone please tell me what color glass tile is on the first and the second photos of the bathrooms?the top bathroom looks more like a pink base and the second bathroom has the dark gray tiles and the purple walls. also, what kind of walls are these? it looks different than just regular paint. i need a link to the tiles that both of these bathrooms have. i think the first one is more of a pink base and the second is more of a silver base.
- 3d glass mosaic tiles.. The lighting is crucial for these tiles to shine appropriately.. I'm guessing that it'll be about $100-$200 per sheet for these type of tiles ! Lowes has some pillow tiles that give off that type of light for $195 a sheet.. The walls might be some sort of painting effect.. Like dry brushing .. Very pretty intersting but, could be REALLY expensive to try and pull off... If you like the look try a simple solutions pick a few things to mimic/faux spend some money on the WOW factor... - The mortar that you are using really needs to be mixed so that is it very sticky and you can add a glue that is sold at any home depot or flooring store. ceilings suck as far as tiling them.

- Hi, I'm Nick The Tile Man. You can purchase thin-set mortar from Lowe's, Home Depot or your local tile supplier. It should cost about 30 dollars or less. It will bond onto tiles. Check out my web site for free information for all tile repair work.
- Q:We are redecorating our bathroom. We are on a very limited budget. We can‘t afford to rip out the old tiles and put in new, so we‘re wondering if there is something we can do to make them look new and/or different. Such as painting them? - Go to one of those Home Depot Clinics and see if it really is something you can do. If not; find someone that knows how, and will let you work with them and charges alot less than a contractor will. And then maybe you will be able to do it next time.
- Q:on to ceramic tile and was told by ace hardware to use acryl pro ceramic tile adhesive ive layed a few tiles but i dont think its right. need some help, is this the correct procedure?????
- i suggest something on top of the ceramic tile, like plywood or particle board. why do you need tile adhesive if the tiles say self-adhesive?

- Bill's answer is correct and in addition to it I will add that depending on where you live it could be against the law to remove it due to the asbestos. It's possible that the law requires you to have a company that's certified with asbestos removal come and remove it. However is anyone going to question you if you DIY? If so there could be some stiff penalties involved. If not than the other thing to consider would be to use a quality dust mask because you don't want to breath that stuff in at all..... We covered our floor insted of ripping it up.
