Q:stainless steel refrigerator that doesn't leave fingerprints?
Stainless Look vs Stainless in refrigerators usually refers to true Stainless Steel versus Satina. There's pluses and minuses both ways actually. With true Stainless, you have the exact match to the rest of the kitchen (because Satina is only used on refrigeration), but it is more prone to fingerprints, and is not magnetic. The Satina finish has a good look when not directly near a Stainless appliance, and does not show fingerprints and will accept magnets, but is not an exact match to stainless. My usual recommendation is that if you have a kitchen full of Stainless products, stick with the true Stainless Steel. If the refrigerator is more isolated, or is the only thing you want to have a Stainless look, you may want to consider Satina. If you put a lot of magnets on the refrigerator, I'd also recommend to go Satina. And since you don't want fingerprints, the Satina steel might come to your liking.
Q:Question about the strength of steel..?
If done correctly it should increase the tensile strength at least.
Q:stainless steel properties??
Stainless steel is a generic term for a whole range (there are more than 60 types) of Fe-Cr alloys. They all contain some amount of C and some alloys include a good number of other alloying elements. In almost all cases, the materials have corrosion resistance due the Cr atoms that are in solid solution with the Fe matrix. Under corrosive conditions, the Cr forms a thin tight coherent layer of Cr-oxide. This Cr oxide coating prevents further corrosion so long as it is not chemically or physically removed. If the SS has been subject to mechanical abrasion, the corrosion resistance can sometimes be restored by a light exposure to nitric acid which passivates the surface, restoring the Cr-oxide layer. The carbon content is an important factor in corrosion preformance but so is the heat treatment. Under the wrong conditions and in different environments, all SSs can rust. One of the most common corrosion problems is sensitization which occurs in the heat affect zone (HAZ) around welds. If the C content is high enough and the heat is high enough, the Cr atoms in solid solution form Cr-carbides and are no longer available to form a protective Cr-oxide. The corrosion resistance can be restored by appropriate heat treatment.
Q:Quality of Cold Steel Recon 1 (folding knife)?
I recently bought the same weapon and am really impressed. There is no decline in quality and it arrived sharp enough to shave with. I rank upon the finer knives that I own. I would not hesitate to use it in a defensive situation (or offensive).
Q:Steel Buildings.........!?
Both have advantages and disadvantages. Wood is much cheaper than steel. Wood buildings are easier to construct. Wood more easily lends itself to finishing activities (drywall and such on the interior). Wood buildings can be repaired fairly easily when damaged. Steel is stronger, and can be used for much taller buildings. Steel is more durable, it lasts longer and is more resistant to degradation. Steel is more suitable for extreme situations such as earthquakes. The cost and purpose of the building typically drive the decision regarding what material to use. For homes, its usually not feasible to use steel frames, steel just costs too much. For tall buildings, for industrial buildings, steel is used because the benefits outweight the extra cost.
Q:Why can hot rolled coils be placed outside?
Because hot-rolled steel coils are generally used as raw material for semi-finished products, they have to be further used for pickling and cold rolling to make more use. The rust and dust can be removed after pickling
Q:What brand steel tapes are of good quality?
Personal feeling is also good for the Great Wall Seiko tape, upstairs several estimates are the production of steel tape manufacturers, of course, that their goods well. Our unit now buy all the Great Wall Seiko goods, said the tape is good, not because it is so durable
Q:Stainless Steel Pots and Pans?
First, they must be absolutely shiny, clean. Use a scouring pad in circular motions to make them as smooth as possible, then use Non-stick spray, but read the label, some oil sprays contain water and they will stick every time. Spray with canola or pour canola in the pan and warm it up before putting in the food. For flavor you can mix the canola with some olive oil or butter, but don't overheat or they will smoke and burn. For frying pancakes or eggs, the best choice is a teflon coated pan, use an oil spray and medium heat only.
Q:Which Material is Better? Glulam or Steel?
Steel is better. You can use a smaller size compared to wood, it will handle more weight and will not deflect like a lam beam can and will. I've worked in a lot of older houses and the ones with steel beams always had far less differential settling than those with wood beams.
Q:Do steel guns burn when exposed to flames/ extreme heat?
Yes they melt and rather easily. Guns are made by melting steel and many police departments destroy confiscated guns by melting them.
