- Q:If a crane fly loses a leg will he be okay? Is it painful for him or do they just 'release' them like a lizard can release it's tail?
- Only lizards can release a part of their body, but only the tail. It probably lost its leg while it was flying because it had a string tightly wrapped around it for a long time and it finally just fell off. It would probably hurt them a little because the bloodflow would be cut off and it would be somewhat numb.
- Q:I know how to make cranes and I'm pretty fast at doing so but in pictures I see of crane leis the cranes look like they're folded differently so that they can be stacked on top of each other.. Can anyone teach me how to fold like that so that I can make a paper crane lei?
- But I do different from step 11 on Step 11: Normally they fold along the red line. I dont. On step 10 you see the cross line in the center +. I then fold the right pointy toward the center. Do the same for all. Step 12: I the filp the right top layer to the left, same with the back side. Step 13: fold the bottom point to the top(one layer only) filp to back side, do the same. Step 14: flip right layer to the left again, same with the back side. Step 15: Pull and done.

- The tower crane is build on sections of steel structures from ground level, they build much higher than needed, so the protuding section at the top that houses the crane do not need to be removed all the times, that probably explains the cost of building. They probably start to remove the protuding section when it reaches a height which is easy for machinery to access.

- The crane part can be identical, but the vehicle part differs: in the former case it's a road-going (even multi-axle) truck, in the latter case it's an off-road vehicle with oversize all-terrain tires and appropriate traction and transmission capabilities. In either case, the vehicle must be stabilized on adjustable hydraulic struts before hoisting.

- Hey okorder / I reckon the Japanese tradition would really suit this style because of the crane is a Japanese form of art. I do give you permission to print out this piece and work with it as this is only a basic sketch and ive stuffed up a lot of the detail as I forgot it would be easier for you with just an outline also the top flower may need re-doing. - You probably meant a truck-mounted crane. There are industries offering ready-made solutions that work. Have you ever designed a truck or a crane before? It's a challenging engineering task and it can't be improvised. Besides, whatever you design and build will have to undergo extensive testing before being authorized to operate on public roads. The solution would cost more than anyone would care to pay for it. Consider buying a used rig instead.
