Q:Where are cranes mostly found in the world?
Most cranes for building are in China I have seen Sandhill Cranes (birds) by the thousand flying north in South Dakota.
Q:3years after I quit a job,I am once again looking toward the same field it's just that in my old job they helped me get a crane license when I left the job they kept my certification .How can i get that info without asking my old work for it,or would i have to take the course over?
There is actually no such thing as a crane operators licence - you should tell your new employer that you had undertaken a course in your previous employment and were authorised by them to operate their cranes. The new employer will most likely then send you on another course and issue you with their operators authorisation. The authorisation from your old employer is not transferable to the new one so not having the certificate is not a major problem. It is however good practice for employees to receive a copy of the certificate for their own records.
Q:I was told that this was taking place, so i would like to fax the info to the proper local
Is it a seeing eye dog?
Q:I'm researchign for this demonstration speech on origami and uncovered a legen that says in the Japenese custom if you fold 1000paper cranes you are granted a wish. Just wondering, has anyoen ever tried this? and the outcome?I'm goign to do it this weekend!
my daughter's art club did this for a hospital not to long ago...they made 1300 paper cranes and hung them from the ceiling in one of the hospital wings. I don't know about being granted one wish, but it made the patients happy and smile no matter how sick they were. I've heard the paper crane was some how connected with leukemia, so she made one for a friend of mine's son (he is only 7 and has battled this disease for 2 years) and it made him happy to know that someone who doesn't know him would make something like that for him.
Q:When the earthquake happened, the children wanted to know what they could do to inform other students and raise awareness for the people in Japan. So, we decided to do a show on the earthquake, and to also making the cranes, the origami cranes.thank you! a foreigner. (detail)
I personally would write it as... So, we decided to do a show on the earthquake and to make origami cranes. However, for proper English grammar, your idea of saying to also make the cranes is correct for an addition with and. The sentence fragment ... and to also making the cranes... would not work because also is a interrupter to show continuation and is not a verb. To make is an infinitive so adding also would not allow the conjugation of the infinitive due to the rule that a verb cannot follow a verb unless if the second verb is in an infinitive form. And is never used with commas unless there are items in series such as ducks, chickens, and hens. And is not correct after a comma unless if there are items in series. In addition, the items in series rule can change slightly if there is a description with the items or a sentence fragment such as with the sentence... There are several large hens with an egg; a few with large wings; and a few with a large pile of food. In this situation a semicolon(;) is used to help people know that it is a series with a group of sentence fragments. If you need help contact me or find help with items in series, types of sentences, sentence fragments, and sentence interrupters. I am learning to speak Spanish so I am willing to help anyone with English because I know how difficult it can be to learn English.
Q:Before the Advent of the Railroad Steam Recovery Crane Car (pictures below), how were Locomotive Steam Engines recovered after a derailment from the 1830's to the 1890's?
Block and tackle. Some disassembling required. Consider this Stonewall Jackson raided Grafton WV and took several locomotives over land to a southern rail head. The special equipment was developed due to increased engine size. When steam cranes were/are used temporary tracks are laid at the wreck site for several reasons. one of which is to get equipment in and the other is to haul the wreckage out. The actual number of cranes required depended on the engine/s in the wreck, location on the wreck, skill of the operators and extent of damage. If the locomotive was damaged to much, it might be cut up. If the location was too difficult for recover, they were abandoned or buried. Rumor has it that there are several locomotives left at the bottom of slides awaiting for some one with enough money to recover them for restoration. Like the story of legend concerning a 1953 Corvette in a old barn. Hope that answers all your questions.
Q:type of dc motors used by electric train/subway,crane & fan.give a brief explanation to your answer?
I believe that electric trains and subways use series motors when DC motors are used because the series motor has a torque vs. speed curve that provides high torque at low speed and low torque at high speed. Since power is equal to torque times speed, that is essentially a constant power mode of operation. I believe that mode is selected because it results in a smaller and less expensive complement of power delivery equipment and more efficient operation. Although it has been many years since DC motors were used extensively for cranes, I believe that series motors were used more than other types for the same reasons stated above. However, compound or separately excited motors may have been used for better speed and torque control at low speeds. Except for heater fans in vehicles, I don't believe DC motors have ever been used much for fans. Today, permanent magnet DC motors are used for all of the little motors in vehicles including the radiator fan that was formerly belt driven by the engine. A permanent magnet motor is like a separately excited motor or a shunt motor. The optimum DC motor for a fan would probably be a shunt motor because a fan requires increasing torque as speed increases. Today, computers are cooled by brushless DC motors.
Q:Similarities in theme with Emily Dickinson and Stephen Crane?
I think death and peace...... Majority of the poem written by Ms. Dickinson tackles about death like To Die-takes just a little while and peace while Mr. Crane is about war and peace like Red Badge of Courage
Q:I'm confused about one of the final scenes, where Seneca Crane is locked in the room with the nightlock berries. Does this mean that he is supposed to eat the berries and presumably die? Or is it symbolism of some sort of distaste in the way he ended the Games?
I think he is supposed to eat and die because Prez Snow got pretty angry at Seneca for having two winners for the Hunger Games
Q:I had a dream and it wos really scary so realistic i woke up crying and could go to work the next dayi was in my house and woke up and came downstairs and there were letters on the floor and someone was picking them up then i looked outside and there wos a big fire and a crane had fallen down and explosion and everyone was dying their faces burnt i burst out crying. what does it mean?
Probably some stress or fear is looming large in your subconscious mind. Scary dreams often occur when you have something that is stressing you. That is assuming you didn't read some book or watch some movie that brought it on, that is another possibility. Often we replay images we have in our heads from the day before. I don't think it is an omen or anything. So, be glad to say it was only a dream.
