- the asisted bench press just keeps your arms straight and guides you so you dont go down and cant get back up but you do need to increase the weight cause the bar isnt standarded olympic bar weight. my trainer allows told me the machines are for getting ripped and free weights are for getting big but logically as long as you putting up the same weight the same amount of mass is built but i prefer free weight benching

- Bench pressing can work out both your triceps and chest. The closer your hands are on the bar, the more tricep your gonna work out. The farther your hands are, the more chest it works out

- Q:I hurt my upper back last night while doing dumbbell shoulder presses. Today, the area is sore and is incapable of supporting much (if any) weight. Any ideas what I did to it?
- You may have used too much weight on the presses. Sometimes the body needs a rest. Are you doing these daily? You should not work the same muscle group every day. Alternate between days doing different workouts. I like to recommend the upper body work out every other day, and the lower body workouts the opposite to give the muscles a rest. Sometime when we are a little under the weather our body is telling us not to over do take it easy a day or so. Give it a couple days of rest before working out again. Sounds like a pulled muscle.

- I use a Bodum Chambord. I have an 3- and a 12-cup model. They are measured in espresso cup sizes so the 3-cup model is actually more like 1 regular coffee. I like the glass models, but that or stainless is your choice. Although you should get stainless if anyone around it is a klutz. The French press is also very useful for making tea (I use my 3-cup for that work).
