Q:Plastic tablecloth and mod podge bowl?
No - mod podge won't hold plastic together - it has to soak in.
Q:Where can you get plastic parts made cheap?
China is usually pretty cheap. That is were everyone goes.
Q:Plastic Surgery Colleges?
I applaud you for having a career in mind at such a young age. For now, you'll want to focus heavily on your high school grades, especially your math sciences/biology chemistry. You will need to enroll in a pre-med program initially at a 4 year college. From there, you will need to complete anadditionall 4 years at medical school. After that, you'll need to complete a residency program and learn the specialty of plastic reconstructive surgery. That could take an additional 2 years. You will also need to take all of your medical state board licensing and examinations, and pass them! Then additional exams for plastic surgery. So you are looking at a MINIMUM of 10 years past high school in regard to continued education. As far as the right college for you, there are so many factors that tie into that decision. And that is a decision that is best made between you, your parents, and assistance from your school guidance counselor. Hope this helps!
Q:can you melt plastic into a mold?
You can melt plastic to make parts (injection molding) but water bottles actually start from a plastic tube that re-symbols a cigar tube and gets blown with air inside a bottle shaped mold (blow molding) and then you can heat plastic sheets to melting point and use vacuum to pull the plastic over a mold (vacuum molding) but yes all plastic smells and has toxic fumes when melted...theres also a plastic that looks like putty that you melt in boiling water to make it soft...you can mold it into any shape and when it cools it turns into a hard plastic...no smell and not toxic...
Q:Fishing Plastics Help?
I am in no way affiliated to them, I just thought it was odd that I found this the day or so before you asked this question. I am going to try it before I start melting any of my stuff down. Best of luck to you. JB
Q:creative ways to recycle plastic bottles?
Plastic bottles can be cut toward the bottom. I especially liked the effect with the Dasani water bottles. Place the bottoms inside of each other with differing cuts to the edges and they appear to be tulip-like flowers. To bend the petals slightly I have used a heat gun. I have also used the heat gun to make the sides of the bottles soft enough to not cut my hands. I used a sharp scissors and pruners to cut the plastic. I haven't tried it yet but I think that different pieces of cut sides could be fused together into a stained glass type of project. A warning however: make sure there is a source of plenty of fresh air whenever using the heat gun and use gloves when cutting and manipulating the plastic to avoid cuts. The fumes from warming plastic gives quite the headache.
Q:Is Alcohol Solvent safe for plastic?
This question gets asked a LOT. Look it up on Google and you'll find a dozen methods. A pure solution of Simple Green will work and some people use acetone-free nail polish remover (don't use acetone based!!) but I haven't tried that myself.
Q:Buying recycled PVC or plastic?
plastic is banned and we must use cloth bags or recyled ones to prevent misuse
Q:Plastic container refugium live fish?
Sure (acrylic is a plastic). The problem is durability. Many cheap plastics degrade relatively quickly and/or become brittle over time. This can cause a catastrophic failure. Many plastics do not hold up to the UV light spectrum well, so the refugium lighting can cause degradation. Some compatability charts include UV listings. In the long run, a cheap glass aquarium can be $1/gallon at local PetSmart sales. A used one on Craigslist will be less than half that. That's a much better choice.
Q:Plastic or Polycarbonate Lenses?
If you ask which is better, then plastic is better. When optical professionals look at visual acuity through a lens material, we use what is called an Abby Value. The lower the Abby value, the more chromatic aberration there is to the lens which is a rainbow effect on the edges but which presents itself as blurriness. Polycarbonate has the lowest Abby value of any material - 29. Glass has the highest (but I would never recommend glass). Plastic is just below that, followed by a material called Trivex. Many opticians call polycarbonate polycrap. That's what it really is. However, if you need a thinner, lighter lens as determined by your actual prescription, which you did not give us, then, Trivex or a 1.60 Hi Index material are available. Besides lens materials, the shape, size and width of the frame influences the thickness of the lens. That is why it is imperative to have an Eye Care Professional like an optician help you pick out the frame that is best suited to your prescription. Individuals outside the industry have no idea what to get because they are not versed in the science of optics. Hope this helped.
