- Yes you can. I am guessing it is copper if you live in the north. they have kits with ferrels where you only need to cut the pipe, and replace with a splice where pipe is broken. (get at hardware) Getting to the break is the biggest problem. Tools, saw or hammer to break out wall, pipe cutter or hand saw, wrench for tightening ferrell fittings. It would be best to replace the fittings with soldered fittings in better weather. I am guessing this is under a cupboard, in future, leave cupboard doors open, or let water drip, drip, drip bothhot and cold to prevent freezing. Good luck.
