Q:Why does my water pump switch on and off about every 5 seconds?
It sounds like the bladder in your pressure tank has ruptured.

The temp gauge prob bounced from hot and normal because the water pump worked intermittently and if you didnt drive the car in the red zone and was working when you brought it to the mechanic theres nothing wrong with it
Q:What RPM is required to operate a car water pump?
Mechanical water pumps will move water with any rotation, provided it's a sealed system and there are no obstructions. The flow rate will be determined by the RPM of the water pump. This is proportional to the pulley sizes of the drive pulley to the water pump pulley. 600 RPM for a water pump at idle is sufficient for the cooling system design and the engine heat load at idle. Without knowing the specifics of your application, it would be hard to tell how fast you would need to pedal.
Q:Water supply query or water pump or motor problem?
I will 'clarify' the question, then respond----- If you have a 1HP motor connected to a water pump,; what is its lifting capability ? (like raising the water UP from a well)... At or neat 'sea level', the very ideal (perfect) pump can lift water UP from 33 feet below. To be practical, considering in-efficiencies(losses) you should plan for about 25 feet of lift. Gurgling or bubbling of air/water is a good sign that the pump can not generate the vaccum-seal to begin the flow of water(priming process). You need to provide a way to prime the pump. To prime the pump, you need to supply a flow of water INTO the pump as it is running(water must be running backward into the well, then the pump will initiate the lifting process. To prevent the need to prime the pump everytime that you turn it on, you should put a check valve at the INTAKE orifice (the very end that sticks in the well). This will hold the column of water in the pipe; preventing it from running back into the well. (A check valve allows fluid to flow in one direction only....this must be connected such that the water can only flow UPWARD, out of the well. Q:Which 12 volt dc water pump should I buy for my camper?
If you are connected to a campsite water supply you do not need a pump. The pump is only required to deliver water from the fresh water tank of your camper to the faucets and if equipped toilet of your camper when you are not connected to City water, ya I know I have probably been connected to an actual City water supply 4 days in over 10 years of trailer camping... but any campground water supply is referred to as a city supply in the trailer literature. The only accessory I recommend to have is a combination filter which will stop both sediment ( very common in campground water lines ) and secondary charcoal filter which will reduce both taste and chemical intrusions on your system / palate. Would I buy a basic system demand pump? Yes, but if the cost of the pump stands between your camping season and your camping plans for the season, cancel the pump and camp!

Just like you do on the car since they are built somewhat the same. Most engine water pumps for cars have weep holes one on top and one below the water pump shaft. When the seal goes it will leak from the holes. Second test is grab the shaft or pulley and move it up and down and side to side without the belt on it and if it clicks or moves around its bad. Or remove the pump and check to see if the impeller is broken off or missing..
Q:What is the purpose of providing recirculation line & balance leak off line for a boiler feed water pump?
The feed pumps for most power plants are multistage centrifugal pumps. They have a minimum flow requirement or the balancing forces of the various impellers are lost and the pump is damaged. A recirculation line permits a minimum flow to be maintained at all times. It goes back to the deaerator so the boiler feedwater is not lost. Note: many of these pumps have the recycle automated so it is only in operation at very low flow rates. The leak off from the balancing line is recycled for the same reason.

Water pump selection table "ETA" is the meaning of efficiency. NPSH refers to the pump's cavitation margin.ETA is abbreviated as "efficient ratio", and Chinese means "water efficiency". The efficiency of the pump here is generally referred to as the efficiency of the pump design point because the actual efficiency of the pump varies with the pump operating conditions. The efficiency of the ETA can also be interpreted as the efficiency of the pump at the rated lift (or rated flow).
Q:How do the water pump work please till me water pump mechanism?
Water pumps can be positive displacement or impeller type. Either of these increases the pressure of the water and so can move or lift the water. Centrifugal is an impeller type where a sort of fan blows the water. If the fan stops the water can flow back. You'll need to prime these if they get dry. Fishtanks might use this. Positive displacement means that the water is pushed by some sort of piston. Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement and useful if you don't want the water to run back. Also you won't need to prime it because won't drop the water out when it stops. I'm not sure where hydraulic ram type pumps come into this scheme but they rely on the inertia of moving water to generate high pressure pulses to pump water.
Q:Does my 10 story building need water pump?
It will be less pressure on 10th floor for sure. If everyone is showering or using water on 2 and 3, 10 wont have any pressure. Its probably time to replace gauges and fix the pump. May just need a seal and impeller adjustment. It also sounds like you need or need to replace the pressure switch that is supposed to only turn pump on when demand is high. Check it out. Run ad on craigslist for a pump man to check it out. If you need to replace pump go with an ANSI pump. All parts are interchangeable.
