Q:can anyone show me the steps on how to remove the water pump on a 1995 dodge intrepid 3.5l engine?
im not too sure on that year, but i know that on the 2nd gen. intrepids the water pumps are a real pain to change. easiest way is to pull the engine, but thats not always practicle. dont quote me on this, but i think its behind the timing chain cover.
Q:We have a 2001 mazda tribute that has been leaking coolant and overheating. we thought it was just the radiator, so we replaced it, but it is still doing it. It leaks pretty rapidly, and overheats pretty fast too (in 1 to 2 miles of city traffic) Does this sound more like a hose or the water pump? how difficult will it be to replace the water pump?
2001 is not very old! If you can't see coolant leaking from some point when the engine is warm (and you WILL see it, and be able to track where it is coming from, if from a hose, a pipe, the radiator, or the pump, or a welch plug or some particular place in the engine bay), you could have a cracked head or block, or a blown head gasket. Another simpler possibility is the thermostat has gone bad. If the leak is from a head gasket or a crack inside the engine, a pressure test can be placed on the whole system to establish this. There could also be signs of coolant in the oil.
Q:How large is the starting current for a 1.5 kW submersible pump?
If single-phase, the no-load current is about 3.7A, the rated current is about 10A.
Q:The pump works and water goes to the house from the reserve tanks but there can be long delays before it cuts in after mains pressure is lost. After it stops the pressure gauge falls back slowly to zero. Pressure vessel is a sphere has a valve on top. Any suggestions ?

Q:WARE IS THE WATER PUMP LOCATED AT

Q:My well water pump runs constantly. The manual says it should kick off at 50 psi, it only gets to 48 (moves to 45 rather quickly, slow to 48). Water isn't an issue. Turned off all water to house, and still gets to 48, so I believe I can exclude leak somewhere in the house. One place I called said it could be a bit of grit in the jet pump when I called. This seems like it could cost big bucks. Could I suggest for the service man to check anything else?
I had the same problem with this in my home and I fixed it by simply adding air to my pressure tank. where your well line comes in there you should have a water softener and filters and a tank for holding pressure in the lines. shut off the water to the house and start filling the tank with air until you get to around 46 PSI once that's done turn the house water back on. It should take a lot longer for the pump to kick on now. It's pretty easy and I would definitely try to do it yourself first before calling a repair man out. It'll save you a few bucks!
Q:Hi,My problem is of this automatic water pump ,it is disrupt always I don't no why..I also want to knew what is the function of the pressure air tank??? The picture is here:
WHAT does it is disrupt always really MEAN?? OK, that said... pumps such as this work to maintain a pressure with two set points even though the regulator only has one indicated.. The lower set point which as pressure drops, the pump turns on, and the upper set point where when the pressure rises to that point, the pump shuts off. When the pressure drops to the lower set point, it triggers the pump to run. When the pressure rises to the upper set point, the pump turns off. If the set point is 50 pounds, it may turn on at 47 and off at 53, or the window could be smaller and on at 49 and off at 51. The air bladder works as a shock absorber, just as the shocks work in your car to smooth the ride. When the pump turns ON there is a pressure pulse that without the air space, would promptly turn the pump off again. This is called short cycling and will cause your pump to on-off-on-off-on-off rapidly. The solution is to refill the air bladder. People with well pumps instead of city water have this problem frequently as the air bladder loses the bubble and does not work as a spring or shock absorber. I have city water NOW, but I used to use a well (which is still operational if I choose to use it) and I experienced pump short cycling the very first year I bought the house. The thing IS, I was ignorant. I missed the thing about a well and a septic tank that also uses a pump to an above ground drain field. YES. I was STUPID because I had NOT paid attention. NOW, years later, I have learned, the HARD way mind you, how these sanitary systems WORK in real life in RURAL America....
Q:I was vacuuming up water from my basement I assumed was from the rain, suddenly water started spraying out of a blue pump at the base of my furnace, don't know what the pump does or why its spraying but its making an awful mess.

Q:Water pump located on the ground floor of our 10 story building is leaking and therefore it is constantly running and spilling water into the parking lot. Therefore, a plumber shut the water pump off and opened a bypass valve. After we shut off water pump all units still have good water pressure so why do we need to replace water pump? When water pump is on the incoming city water gauge reads 60psi and the gauge measuring the water shooting up into the building reads 80psi. Now both gauges read zero. How can water coming from the city at 60psi travel all the way to the 10th floor without a boost? I do not understand what is happening.
Perhaps the water tank/supply is higher than 10 stories high.
Q:i want to make this for a physics project for school. i found a video on how to make it, but i dont understand the physics behind. i have to make a model and a poster explaining the physics. i dont understand what to put on the poster so could someone help me with which physics principles this project would go with?
It isn't practical to give a detailed description here. This is a positive displacement pump. The pump chamber is sealed so that as the piston is moved up the volume within the chamber increases. Water is pushed into this chamber by the outside air pressure. If the pump is located too far above the water source then the air pressure is not sufficient and you will produce a vacuum inside but the water still will not flow. When the pump is pushed down the water flows out. Now the one way valves are critical. We don't want the water to flow back the way it came and we don't want the water that we have already pumped to flow back into the pump. So a one way valve on the inlet will permit water to flow into the pump but not out of it. And a one way valve on the outlet will permit water to flow OUT of the pump but not into it. So with each stroke you a) reduce the pressure in the pump. b) water is forced from the inlet, past its one way valve and then into the pump. c) the pump is pushed down increasing the pressure in the pump. d) water flows out of the pump through the other one way valve and on to the output.
