FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.

Q:I took off all the old flooring in the bathroom and whats left is wood (plywood), can I tile directly onto the plywood or do I need to set something down first?
Sure you can. Go to any reputable tile company. They should be able to supply and tell you to... 1st apply a flexible rapid set adhesive... 2nd then place on top a fiberglass mesh (this giving strength). pushing this onto the adhesive using the flat edge of the tool used to put the adhesive down.( doing a small area at a time and working your way to the door ) Once the adhesive is set, you again put another layer of adehsive down and your tiles. When set you can grout :-) This system will give you flex and strength so that you tiles will not move and crack, and raise the floor not much thicker the your chosen tiles. HAPPY TILING :-))
Q:How many square meters of tiles (wall) (Tiles) multiple?
Walls 14.174 kg / square Floor tile 28.08 kg / square
Q:I have a pistol grip glass cutter with a carbide cutting wheel....can this be used to cut ceramic tile, or am I better off to get tile nippers?
You score tile with the glass cutter. For other than straight cuts those nippers are still useful.
Q:found porcelain floor and wall tile but im not sure if i can use it in the shower,do i have to use ceramic tile
Porcelain Shower Tile
Q:I need two more floors tiles to match my kitchen floor. The floor was down before we moved in. how i can find out what type of tile it is?
If you have any loose pcs not yet installed the backs can give me clues as to what it is. Along with the year it was originally installed ( approx) and the exact size of the tile.. Any thing over 8/10 years old you may as well look for some thing close in the exact size. Beyond that your looking at reclaimed tile discount outlets looking for dropped tile lines. There is a few places that specialize in buying and selling of dropped lines of tiles. They change and discontinue tiles every 7/10 years to keep up with changing styles and colors patterns. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:My kitchen is 15x11 and I am buying 18x18 tiles I need to know how many to buy.
First of all, your calculation is wrong. You have 165 Sq Ft' Second of all 18(18) does not = 18 The correct answer is 18(18)=324Sq.inches.=2.7 2.7 div.165=61. You will need approx.65 tiles.
Q:dont know how much to charge to install tile backsplash on kitchen wall with 100sq/ft, please let me know am new and started in this business??
Tile is always priced by the s/f and agreeing with another poster 100 s/f is huge, 3 xs the standard back splash. I did my pricing on what was to be installed, tile or a stone product, if there was striping I charged by the linear foot. So you have to many variables to give you a price. Plus the area ( of country) you are installing and you experience will demand the price you ask. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:How difficult is it to strip and reseal saltillo tile floors? Is this something that I can do myself or do I need to hire a professional?
My reaction here is the following: NOOOOOOO! Well, you can. But I don' t think you should. The charm of Saltillo tile is that earthy, rustic color. That's why people choose it. All of that aside, it is your tile to do with as you please. However, there is one thing to think about before going ahead: resale value. Changing the look of an already distinctive type of tile which many people look for may hurt your chances some on this front. Handmade tiles are a real selling point with some buyers. If you've got 'em, flaunt 'em! :) What ever you decide, good luck with your reno!
Q:the tile squares have come off and I need to re-stick them. Which glue should I use?
What kind of tile, and where is it? On the wall or the floor?
Q:we‘ve moved into a 1930s flat with those old bakelite tiles, i think they‘re caller marley tiles. does anyone know a good way to get paint off them, and how to get them looking shiney and new again.cheers!
The one thing you do not want to do is use any harsh or abrasive cleanser on them. If they are real bakelite then they can lose their gloss and can be ruined. First try a bit of liquid laundry soap and warm water on a terry washcloth or small towel and dab or blot it on the spots. As the warm water and soap sit on the paint it will soften enough to scrape off with your fingernail or a popsicle stick. Always try any cleaning on a tile that is not seen readily, like under the sink if available, to insure that the finish does not get damaged. I have never known tiles to be made of bakelite but plastic was used extensively up to the 1970's and it can be cleaned with mineral spirits if necessary. If the soap and water do not work try mineral spirits, (also known as paint thinner and/or turpentine) on a small area of the tiles. You can try the fingernail scraping method first and some of the paint may come off straight away if it is latex and not too thick. If you get all the paint off you can shine them with carnuba wax, but try the wax on a hidden tile to make sure it does not have a reaction with bakelite. Best of luck.
