1KW about 2 current, so the rated current is about 3A, and the starting current is usually 3-8 of the rated current, that is 9-24A.
Q:yesterday the electric went out for a while we had some big storms and now the water doesnt work, the pump is running but there is no water coming out, i need help on how to fix it, please. hurry
You might need a new foot valve. That keeps the water from draining back into the well. Depending on what type of pump you have, could be at the bottom of the well. To bleed the well, you need to remove the plug on the motor...it looks like a nut...about 3/4. You remove that and fill with water...when its full, turn the pump on and keep filling it till it gushes out...put the plug in (with new teflon tape) and it should work. Be careful not to touch the electrical, could get shocked. Its easy if the foot valve is good.
Q:they say a water pump going bad is supposed to weep out of that hole....Yet I see that a new water pump kit has two gaskettes.some o rings....is it likely that it can leak from these sources and still not come out the weep hole?They talk about berring that could go bad or seals gone bad...does this occure in the area that gets inserted into the engine( the turbine portion of the pump)if you had to guess..where is the most likely area for a water pump to fail...if seems like I have wetness off to the left( back toward the firewall) and less off to the right( front of the car)..more off the left..it is very subtile off the right.I don't see anything coming out of the weep hole..BUT the weephole is directly on top( dead center)and back towards the engine in this model. I have the car jacked up on the passengers side/next to the wheel wellso the fluid is most likely to flow backwards toward the drivers side.
Here's the deal. You have to look at your cooling system as a whole system, not just a collection of parts. What makes you suspect the water pump? Is the vehicle overheating? Are you loosing coolant? How many miles are on the vehicle? Everything is a clue to the answer. Where is a pump most likely to fail? Anywhere. A lot of times the impeller will break, but sometimes the gaskets rot out, sometimes the housing itself cracks, sometimes the bearing freezes up. Could be a couple different things. I am assuming by your description you have some type of transverse motor. Could a bad water pump be spraying coolant all over your firewall? Sure, but so could a bad hose or bad clamp somewhere. A hole in the radiator could spray coolant that far back under pressure, although you would probably see moisture around the radiator as well. It's impossible to say without inspecting the vehicle in person. My personal opinion, stay away from the big name parts retailers employees unless you KNOW they know what they are talking about. Some of them do, many don't. They are hired to sell parts, not diagnose problems. Even if they do know about vehicles they can't give an accurate diagnosis without looking first hand. You are better off to find a small local shop with a good reputation and have them look at your vehicle for you.
Q:My 2001 300M is behaving oddly. Occasionally it will gradually overheat after I have driven around for 15 or so minutes. Yes, occasionally. I took it to my mechanic who changed the thermostat and hoses. I then drove it on a trip on the interstate and over a mountain (140 miles ) It was fine with no signs of overheating. Then the next day when I drove to work in the city, the stop and go traffic had it overheating near the end of the trip. I've been able to keep it from going in the red by using the heater. After this happened most of the days, but not all, I took it back to the shop. He reported that the fans were working correctly and the only thing he could come up with is a weak water pump. He stated that when it did get hot, he was able to bring the temp down just by rev'ing the engine a little.Does that sound right? Any other ideas and how to test?
If he said the temp fell by revving the engine one of two things either the water pump is going out the bearing is failing and faster RPMS is pushing the water pump inside to spin faster and the bearing is starting to catch and work and spon the propeller OR the radiator is plugged or needs to be replaced. If the radiator is going bad it could be restricting water and more RPMS once again is pushing the water through the radiator to cool it. The other thing it could be is a radiator cap if it is not holding pressure then it will cause the water inside to boil slightly and make it hotter also. I would by a new cap and do the water pump. Those are the two cheapest. If that doesn't fix it then do a radiator.

Q:Here is the deal...*Van over heats*Blows Cold quot;heatquot;*Added coolant and water (nothing happened)*Started van, felt the hoses (no h2o flowing thru)I really think my water pump is out, but I am not sure. make sure thermostat is working properly and cooling system is bled properly to remove all air. If this doesnt work I would suspect head gaskets as Nissan engines in Villagers are known to blow head gaskets if ran hot for extended periods
Q:Our mechanic wants to replace my husband's water pump in his 1996 Saturn saying it is quite loose. We'd like to wait until next week since its a 2 day job and with our schedules it would be difficult. Can it wait for a couple of weeks? Could this leave him stranded?
There is no way of knowing how long it will last. How long has it been going out? What does the mechanic mean by loose? Is it leaking water? It could last a couple of years, it could go out tomorrow. If you trust your mechanic, which I would over people on here, I would have the water pump changed as soon as possible. When it goes out, and it will, it will leave you stranded, and in the most inappropriate place and time.
Q:I just had my water pump/timing belt replaced and oil change. When the pump failed, white smoke was coming out, which I figured out to be coolant from the smell. Now there is smoke coming out from under the engine, which I believe to smell like oil. Also, the temperature gauge goes up to the halfway point when I am at a stoplight or idling. The highest I have ever seen it is at 1/3.I had my car serviced by the dealership and I asked them. The man said its burning oil residue from the oil change and that it will burn away in a few days. Is this true? I have had my car worked on and oil changed for the past year at this dealership and have never had any smoke or other problems. What else could be going on? Worse case scenarios. Oil residue ought to go in a few hours, not days !!! Anyway, if the smoke persists then it seems that youv'e got a cracked engine gasket and oil is mixing with cylinder water. Check it and check your radiator for any clogs.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. HAVE A PROFESSIONAL DRILL YOU 1 GOOD WELL.INSTALL A CONSTANT PRESSURE SYSTEM THEN YOU WILL BE HAPPY.
