Q:solar panels and how they work

Lots More Information 0. See all Physical Science articles You've most likely visible calculators that experience sun cells -- calculators that certainly not want batteries, and in a few instances do not also have an off button. As lengthy as you have got sufficient mild, they look to paintings eternally. You could have visible better sun panels -- on emergency street indicators or name containers, on buoys, even in parking plenty to energy lighting fixtures. Although those better panels are not as ordinary as sun powered calculators, they are in the market, and no longer that rough to identify if you recognize in which to appear. There are sun mobile arrays on satellites, in which they're used to energy the electric strategies. You have most likely additionally been listening to approximately the sun revolution for the final twenty years -- the inspiration that sooner or later we can all use loose electrical power from the solar. This is a seductive promise: On a brilliant, sunny day, the solar shines roughly a million,000 watts of vigour in step with rectangular meter of the planet's floor, and if we might accumulate all of that vigour we might simply energy our houses and places of work free of charge.
Q:Powering my house with solar panels?
Homes vary tremendously in their usage. It will be a factor of 0: between a conservative house, and a heavy use one. To get the answer for your own house, check the electric bills. Also, the answer for the size of solar electric system varies with the location of the house. A Minnesota residence may get only 2/3 or /2 of what an ideal California house gets, even though both are sunny. As a data point, our California house has no air conditioning, no electric heat, no pool, and no big screen TV. We use maybe 5 - 8 kWh a day on average (more in winter, less in summer). We have a 3 kW solar array on the roof, and it roughly keeps up with our usage.
Q:how does a solar panel works?
Kinetic energy of the solar photons in the 'light', hit the surface of the compound, displacing the molecular components in it, creating a flow of energy carrying corpuscles down the wire. These - collected at the end of this circuit - produce energy sufficient to cause movement via the magnetic fields they cross on the either natural or electrically induced magnets they pass through. Basic principles to have in mind, is that these panels only produce ONE type of energy: direct. From one side (+) to another (-), and you must follow this principle when connecting. My suggestion is find the supplier and get instructions. They usually have detailed information. In order to hook up this panel, you must follow instructions.
Q:What is the most efficient solar panel?
Most Solar Panels are roughtly 6% efficient. Since the sun gives out about 366 watts per square meter, a good panel would be 200+ W/square meter. If you want to save a bunch of money, I suggest you have a look at this tutorial I'm linking. The guy explains how you can assemble your panel yourself. It's far easier than I first thought !
Q:What are your opinions on solar energy?
It is definitely worth doing your homework to evaluate how much you electricity you want to obtain, what you location will allow, and the availability of state and federal tax credits. I suggest reading about it in a book or e-book. Check out the referenced source on solar calculator for cost and size detailed information, it's fun and informative.
Q:Solar panels in the Bay Area?
Solar works even if the sun can not be seen. Germany is using them and with success, even though they do not nave sun like Sacramento. Another option is to use solar concentrating collectors at malls, open fields... But we have to set them up to use the heat when the low BTU's will not turn the turbine. Hilltop is an example of a place to put this type of system. This is what I am working on.
Q:Solar Power Question?

Q:Need Large solar panels. ?
Just google search solar panels or pv panels and you should get a long list of them. That's what I did. Most of the sites selling them will also have the inverters etc that you'll need. Most likely you'll put several small or medium sized panels on your roof - as opposed to just one large one. You probably won't be able to run an entire cafe off of photovoltaic panels, even if you have a bank of batteries. Too many appliances running at the same time. Ask your electric utility company about net metering - you'll buy juice from them when your demand is high and sell to them when your demand is low - IF you can find a sunny day when you're not using juice, but if you have a restaraunt-sized refrigerator you probably won't be selling as much as you're buying. In effect, it won't eliminate your elec bill, just make it a bit smaller. Either way, you may be looking at spending $20,000 to cover the roof with PV panels and your savings won't pay that back any time soon. So, PV is not so great for a business. Much better for a home where you'll be at work all day the only appliances running in your house is your frig. Whatever you invest to solar your house will be repaid when you sell it, meanwhile you'll reduce your bills dramatically, especially if you convert all your indoor lighting to LEDs. On the other hand, the Googleplex, Google's office building full of computers, covered their roof with pv panels and claim to have reduced their monthly bill by /3. BUT, that's a huge building with lots of roof space.
Q:A good brand of solar panels for my house?
Mitsubishi panels have served us well for 3 years so far, no problems. Kyocera had a well-known problem many years ago, but they lived up to the warranty and replaced defective panels. Their current products are considred good. I like the value delivered by Suntech panels. Might be a best buy - shop around. I have not heard about any of the major brands having trouble, lately. If you're intending to connect to the grid, be cautious about used or blemished panels. While they might work fine, they usually are ineligible for rebates.
Q:How to make a solar panel at home?
The first thing to understand is that there is nothing complex about a solar panel. It is nothing more than a collection of solar or PV cells on a board that is fitted to the most appropriate part of your home, generally on the roof. There are guides out there that teach you how to build a solar panel and a windmill for just $50, and it’s very easy to make. Best of all, you can save 70% or more on your energy bill, adding up to thousands of dollars each year in savings. I reviewed both free guides and paid guides and have come up with our top to Build your own solar panels.
