Q:Solar panel for laptop?
Actually they do make these... u have one but the voltage is no guaranteed as depends on the radiation from sunlight. I have a 8v 60Watt folding solar panel... works great and does charge laptop but not consistent. It works better when you also have an external battery with you as well. Battery will charge laptop Solar panel will charge battery Also most important... put laptop screen on super dim / power savior mode or else laptop will eat up energy. I have a desktop replacement hp laptop and able to keep it charged at 9volts just under 2amps... (38 watts)... on power save mode of course ALLPOWERS 8v 60Watt folding solar panel charger Also.... Q:How can I be part of the solar panel industry?
Manufacturing your own electrical solar panels is out of the question. They are built much like computer chips and setting up a plant to do this would cost millions of dollars. You could become a solar system installer. These businesses install solar systems on homes and are paid for this service. You will need a significant amount of technical training to do this though, I would guess at least two years (the last thing you would want to do is damage someones home or design a system that is dangerous). I would suggest that you go into business making energy improvements to homes that do not involve solar energy. Most people can get the best value for their money by improving the air tightness of their homes (several tubes of well placed caulk). Other things you could offer would be the upgrading of door, Windows and electrical box seals. Insulation jackets around hot water heaters is also something a small firm could offer home owners. Other energy improvement are also possible and you could offer a whole shopping list of improvements to a customer. Good luck
Q:How much power does a solar panel generate?
That site tells you somewhat about the cost of solar panels and their MAXIMUM output. Now some who have these panels claim output, in daily terms, 8 times as great as maximum output, which says they are counting on 8 hours of effective sunlight. In California Desert that is sound. You will discover that Ontario Power grid is planning for 3 hours to 4 hours of maximum output . Based on that 3 to 4 hours of maximum output, it would take close to 20 years to recover your cost at the price Ontario pays for solar power. The deal locks you in so that you can not get more money as electricity prices go up, and do not lose if electricity prices go down over that 20 years.
Q:Why do people use solar panels?
The sun provides power where ever the sun shines. That means you can have power without paying for power cables running for miles across rivers and valleys or just out in the middle of nowhere. Or in the middle of somewhere, you can get more or less off the grid (of electrical delivery) and save money and not be a slave to big business. And since the carbon footprint of making power with solar cells is entirely in the making of them and the batteries, it is a cleaner form of electricity. With the batteries needed to have power at night, it can mean that power doesn't fail when the wires go down in the grid.

Q:How will i construct solar panel?
For powering a something that works on DC, like a gate opener, Elaine is right, and in some cases only ONE bigger cell is sufficient due to battery storage; however if the appliance is 20v AC, then an inverter is needed also. MOST of Elaine's answer is good, but a few corrections are needed: Plywood - use EXTERIOR grade only, and even then it can warp; chipboard or waferboard is preferable as it does NOT warp, BUT is not available most places in 3/8, /2 nominal, (5/32) is usually the thinnest available, and it is heavier than plywood. DO NOT use particle board. Superglue - NO, it dries too fast to be useful, in most cases. Wires - For a single cell OK, but for larger panels the best wire is tabbing wire, (which is flat,) which is available from all commercial solar cell dealers. Be very careful soldering this to the cells, as unless you buy the expensive flexible cells, they are easily damaged; I suggest also getting flux pens with liquid flux. Diode - Necessary, but needs to be large enough to handle voltage and current. Usually 25v and 5-30 amps,, one per panel. Plexiglas - OK, but NOT as long lasting as glass; best glass is the special solar glass which is designed to pass almost all of the proper light frequencies, but IS expensive, and usually needs to be specially ordered since most glass stores do not stock it. Double panes work well with the outer pane glass and the inner plexiglas, (to protect the cell if glass broken,) IF where might get damage, such as 'ground' mounting. AND Frame kits are available for larger panels, but IF you make your own, a good table router is a great advantage. Inverter - IF used for 20v AC appliances you MUST have an inverter capable of handling the load, and the best ones are modified sine, or true sine, wave types, and even the best are less than 50% efficient. Note that they will last longer if NOT used at more than 2/3 capacity.
Q:Does anyone know a good company to buy solar panels from?
Wow. This is a big question. First, are you in the United States? If so, then I would look at a couple of web sites. First, I would look at joining ASES - the American Solar Energy Society. (Actually, I'd do this whether or not you were in the US) Their magazine will have ads and directorys and so forth for panel manufacturers, inverter manufacturers, rack vendors, metering companies, etc. At the very least, their web site will give you numerous links to popular panel manufacturers. Right now, it can be difficult to get panels in the US. My buying agent can't promise us a significant number of panels until at least late this coming fall. And prices are going up due to a silicon shortage at the moment. Still, you could probably get your hands on small quantities. You just might not be able to choose exactly which manufacturer you want. Also, I'd look into getting NABCEP certification. This is the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. They provide a referral service for people looking for solar installers, and they may have a net work of members that could help get you started. Good luck!

Q:What kind of Solar Power panel setup do I need for this?
Unfortunately solar panels are low output,generally only 2 volt and very low amperage,so you would need to build a multi panel array with a DC-AC converter all together costing several hundred dollars which would only work during sunlight.Just roughly figuring,about $800. Plan2-Solar charger,battery bank,and DC-AC inverter so it would work 24hrs a day,also several hundred $$. Solar power does just not seem feasible(to me)in this application.By far the cheapest set up here would be an extension cord fromhouse to the bucket.260 watts per hr is a fairly lightweight draw,even not figuring the thermostat's cycling it on and off as needed.Electricity is sold in kilowatt hours(000W/hr).This bucket would use(not allowing for thermostats control lowering it)appx 6000watts or 6KW per day.Depending on your electrical cost per Kwh it would cost very little to run.(In my location appx 50cents a day) or appx the same amount as my computer(325watts total)) Note that that would be a maximum rate,and would actually be less due to thermostat cycling off and on as needed.
