Q:I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and I've had it for almost a year. A week ago I was using it and I realized the part of the part of the metal part of the charger that goes inside of the laptop was really hot. There were even some black scorch marks on the metal. I ordered a new charger, hoping it was just a problem with the charger, but the new charger heats up too. The computer is still charging, but the part that goes into the laptop gets hot fast. The computer still works fine (I can't use it because the battery is dead) but I'm scared to charge it because it heats up so much. I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with the computer since both chargers are heating up. What is wrong with it and how can i fix it??
It sounds likes the connection to the motherboard is shorted out. How good are you at taking computers apart and how good are you with a soldering iron? I'm sure if you did a Google search you could find a video on how to take it apart, and a search might provide an answer as to why it's doing it. I'm sure it's a common problem for that model.
Q:I visited Acer store website today to buy a Acer Aspire 3690 charger. However, I couldn't the the charger for my laptop. I decided to buy a charger somewhere else online. Are there any recommendations or cautions?
my power cord went out and i bought a universal adapter for it, just read the label and see if it is compatible with the laptop you have and makesure it is the right voltage and amps. only cost me $50, cheaper than buying a cord from manufactuer
Q:I have 2 laptops an acer aspire 5315, and a 5532. I ordered new chargers for both but only the 5532 one is in, can I use it on the 5315?
Here is an excerpt from a laptop charger website: The following three condition should be met for you to use this charger safely. You can contact us here if you need further assistance. 1) Output Voltage is within +/- 5% of your old charger's output. For example, if your old charger provides 19.5V, then you can use a charger that provides 20.5V or 18.5V. 2) Output Current is the same or higher than that of your old charger. For example, if your original adapter provides 3.42 Amps, then you can use a charger that provides 3.42 Amps, 3.9 Amps or higher. 3) Connector tip must fit securely into your laptop. So if it applies, then yes :)
Q:Besides using a house charger and a car charger is there any other way to charge a sony psp?
by a usb charger
Q:i only want to charge AA batteries for my digital camera. maybe other things but mainly the camera. if i had an energizer charger, would i only be able to use energizer batteries? could i charge Duracell or other brands in an energizer charger?
i dont think so. i use duracell rechargables. they work good. i dont know how well the energizers work.

Q:I have a DV6 laptop but in the last few days it's decided it doesn't want to charge. Usually I can get it to charge by disconnecting the charger and reconnecting it but this has now stopped working also. I don't get the 'plugged in, not charging' message so please no answers regarding that problem, this is just the charger/charger port not working. Is there anything I can do to fix this aside from just buy a new charger?
I even have had that superb subject. the subject is the potential jack it extremely is linked to you laptop motherboard. with a view to repair this you'll might desire to purchase a potential jack from the producer, tear aside the laptop and solder the recent jack in place (for sure you're able to take the old jack out), or deliver it into the producer for them to repair. you're able to do a non everlasting fix and take aside the laptop and use a small screwdriver and bend the prongs inward to tighten the relationship.
Q:I bought a GPS receiver but it has only a car charger. The receiver says: Input: 4.6V-6V DC 1AI only found 1 charger at home that matches the same plug. It's a JVC portable disk player charger. It says Output: 4.5V 800mACan I use this charger with my GPS receiver?
Generally swapping chargers around like this is not a good idea, but it is possible your swap will work. Most important: Check the polarity of the plug. Either the center pin is positive or negative. Both charger and GPS must use the same polarity. It may be labeled or you could check it with a voltmeter. Failure to get this correct could destroy your GPS receiver!! The 4.5V of the charger does seem like it is a bit below the correct range, but it might be OK. Also the 800mA range is a little low. I suspect that these number will work, even if the recharging takes 10 or 20% longer than normal. Also, be careful that some of these plugs look identical, but are not. If you force the plug into the device, you could permanently damage the socket in the device.
Q:I have a compaq presario v3700. My laptop charger is not working and i want to buy a new one. I browsed on the net and it said about replacement chagers. I want to know if the charger in the package and the replacement charger are the same. And how do i ask for a charger at the shop??
There are three kinds of replacement chargers 1) Original HP/Compaq stuff, even has the label on the box You order these from their website, or special order through OfficeDepot and such. Probably about $80-100 2) Universal chargers, the ones that come with multiple tips that you can switch. iGo, RocketFish, and Targus makes them. They work fine. Also $70-90 3) Generic OEM chargers that came out of China or Hong Kong. Cheap, probably 30-40, available through OKorder, takes a month to get there, but it's cheap. And it'll work, but it's it sorta fits, and it charges okay, but there's always a nagging doubt that it's NOT the official thing Don't know which type replacement chargers you actually saw. :)
