Q:My water faucet has a male thread at its outlet. I am trying to determine the thread size and type so I can order some fittings. I measured the outer diameter with a caliper and it was about 0.79 (20mm). I tried a 1/2 NPT female fitting and it barely didn't fit.I need to know if it is metric, BSP (British standard pipe), NPT (National Pipe Thread), or garden hose.Thanks!

The washers may actually be a set screw escutchon. Try to loosen the lock nut that is in the cabinet under the faucet. You then should be able to pull up the stem assembly. Look at the top washer and see if it has a set screw holding it to the stem. Loosen the set screw and unthread the washer off the stem. The remaining assembly would then be removed into the cabinet.

Q:I've read step by step tutorials I found on google, but I'm stuck at only the first few steps! After turning the water off I was going to disconnect the supply lines as well as the nut that holds the current faucet onto the sink, but it seems as if it's in the counter. is it possible to remove just the sink from the counter top? if so, you can simply remove the drain connection, score the caulking around the sink and then GENTLY lift the since out. then you'll have an opening to get to the connection under the counter.

Q:So, my cat is about 10 years old now and up until a few months ago he would drink his water out of his designated water bowl we set out for him. But one day I filled up the sink in my bathroom to soak some clothes in it and I noticed he LOVED drinking out of it. But soon, that was the ONLY place he would drink out of. In the wild, cats prefer to drink moving water. Sitting water may be stagnant and may hide predators. My cats also drink from the running faucet. I find that by leaving 2 or 3 inches in the basin, they may hit it with their paws (causing it to move) and then they will drink.
