Q:I got my scaffold piercing 6 days ago, with titanium, and it was fine until yesterday.I had a couple of nights out and might have knocked it a few times, but yesterday it was swollen, red, throbbing and very painful. There is no liquid coming from it. It seems to have got worse today.I have been following the aftercare advice and cleaning it several times a day with rock salt solution and (up until yesterday) savlon antiseptic spray. Is it just irritated or is it infected? How long should I wait before I go to the doctor? If it is infected, will I have to take it out or just take antibiotics?Thanks!: it sounds like it's just irritated, if it's infected it will be secreting puss. Have you tried to soak it in the rock salt solution? Soak two cotton balls and put one on each side on the piercing and keep it there for 10 minutes a day. And make sure the antiseptic spray has zero alcohol in it because that can irritate it and prolong healing. Try this for a few days and if it's not getting better then go see your doctor.

Q:i got my scaffold done quite a while ago and it still really hurts and is all lush and crusty,loli know it takes agessss to heal but could i take it out and put normall small earrings in each whole instead? Which would i have to use? thanks: in my opinion you should ride it out and just clean it more often. not only will the piercings give you trouble if you try to change the earring now, the piercings themselves will move slightly and you won't be able to put an industrial bar back through it. if you can live with these go through with it, if not, wash often, rotate the bar constantly and avoid sleeping on it and getting your hair caught up in it. like you said, piercings in the cartilage are very sensitive and need time and nurturing so that they can heal properly.

Q:When putting up old scaffolding, a mistake was made and it had to come down.Long story short, the connectors between the vertical and horizontal poles (which were hammered in) are stuck.Any ideas for getting them out?Thanks.: Heat the female connection with a torch. The outer connection will expand from the heat. Heat the connection hot enough not to touch but not cherry red. Put a pipe wrench on male side of tubing where its is cool and tap wrench with a hammer and it will come apart. If possible lay the scaffold on its size for better leverage.

Q:I would like a scaffold piercing, but my parents aren't going to let me have two cartilage piercings at once. So, can they be done separately, as in weeks apart?: Technically yes but it is better to have them done at the same time so the holes are aligned properly. It is better to get them done at the same time, as the second piercing will be less painful because you are all adrenalin-ed up! Probably cheaper too.
