Q:How does your factory do regarding quality control?

- Q:I had to press 5 different types of leaves from my yard for part of my science project. I put newspaper, then the leaves, then a little more newspaper, then my english textbook, a dictionary, and a gallon of water. I let it sit for a week. My results:Australian bottle tree, Australian willow, kumquat bush, and lemon tree leaves worked perfectly.But... the ficus leaf (still got flattened and everything) is BROWN!What happened?I need to know ASAP so I know if I should try the ficus again or do a different type of leaf. I only have time for one more round of pressing before the project is due!Thanks :)
- Ficus plants are always a problem when pressing. The main reason is that they have latex in their tissues and many of them have relatively thick leaves. Not only do they turn brown (or even black) but the leaves usually drop off the stems. There are a few ways to make good Ficus specimens but the ones I've heard of require alcohol (enough to dip the plants in) and you'd need to be able to apply dry heat to your press for a few days at least. So, if you don't HAVE to have a Ficus, use something else (weed from your lawn would be easiest).
- Q:Can I use ground espresso in a French press coffee maker?Would this be too strong? Would it make a mess?
- you can use it by all means... the main problem will be that the coffee will seem a bit muddy... espresso is ground very fine... so the filter on the Coffee pot will mean the Coffee is a bit muddy!
- Q:I am looking to get into reloading. What brand press should I get? I want a press that will do it all, prime, re-size etc. Also is it better to get a full kit or build my own from different manufacturers like say and RCBS press, Lyman scale, and Lee dies etc. Please help.
- I'd get the full kit.A lot less hassle every thing at once.If I were to just getting into reloading I'd go with Lee, cheaper than the others but they work fine.If you start to really getting into it and are reloading a lot you can always upgrade.But if you don't like it or don't reload much you won't be out of a crap load of money.I reload so that's just my opinion
- Q:I have a 1995 Honda Accord...I had a friend change my brakes and rotors - But to find out he couldnt change the rotors, Cuz they are pressed on....I told another guy mechanic that says he is able to get them off - Is there a way he can, I dont want to be left witht he same problem then have to go take it to a shop and spend 3 times as much.
- There's no such thing as a pressed on brake rotor on any Honda. When you have the calipers and brackets off spray the threaded lugs and the right angle where the rotor meets the wheel bearing hub with Blaster Solvent. Let them sit for an hour.Wrap the back side of the rotors with a heavy dead blow hammer. The rotors will then pop off Before installing new rotors clean the hubs with a cylindrical wire brush in a 3/8 drive drill to remove the rust. Before mounting the new rotors smear on some anti-seize inside the the center hole of the rotor as well as the surface that lays against the bearing hub. The rotors will never stick on again.

- It depends what kind of press your looking for. Having done much metal work myself I would recommend contacting Empire Machine or Northern Tool and Supply. Rayco may also be a good resouce.
