Q:Hiya, I just had a scaffold piercing on the 14th of this month.. and everything was fine but in the last couple of days my ear has become a bit swollen and has broke out into spots. The actual piercing is fine, I found some dry blood on the end of the piercing but I dismissed that as nothing. The piercing doesn't hurt at all but its the itching that's getting to me! :(Any advice please, (bear in mind i shall be going to the doctors)Thanks
You shouldn't need to see the doctor. You may be having a reaction to the jewelry. Doctors are not very knowledgeable about piercings. In fact, most that I've met are quite biased against them. Swelling with a scaffold piercing is normal. Sometimes it takes a few days to take effect. Go to your piercer and let them take a look at it first. If you're wearing surgical steel you may need titanium. Also make sure you're only using sea salt soaks twice a day to keep it clean. No antiseptic cleaners, witch hazel, alcohol, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, most soaps, etc.
Q:I need to build something using stainless steel tube or scaffolding tube. What is the cheapest place in the UK to get it ... with no minimum order quantities? Thanks.
Like molitor said, if someone wants your bike bad enough, there's hardly any way to stop them. However, theives are like roaches; they don't want to be seen and scurry away when they think they're found out. Anything you do to slow them down works in your favor because it urges them to move on to easier pickings. Incidently, every system has its weakness. How good is your chain? Just because a chain is big doesn't mean it's strong. Even cheap Chinese bolt cutters will cut through a really big cheap chain, soft bolt or cheap padlock. Go for the high quality chains used by truckers to bind down loads or the type designed for overhead hoists. They may not be as big as others, but they are really tough and will give bolt cutters a run for their money. If you have bolts anywhere on the chain, use grade 8 and a good, hardened lock.
Q:i know they are meant to be done as one piercing and with one bar to reduce the risk of them not aligning properly but is it possible to have it done as one piercing and then replacing the bar with two separate ones after it has partially healed. is there still a risk? also, how low down and at what angle should the bar be?thanks x
They can be done as two separate piercings, and it is up to the piercer and the shape of your ear to decide if something like that will be done. However, I would not recommend it, because even if it is partially healed, putting two separate earrings in can still misalign the piercing when you go to put the bar back in later. I would recommend keeping the bar in, it's a guaranteed way to make your piercing work out. Besides, once you get used to the bar, you won't even know you have it in! Much easier than keeping track of two separate earrings and making sure they still align months down the road. As for the angle, it depends on your preference and what is able to be done due to the shape of your ear. Some people want theirs straight across, others want a much steeper angle. It all depends on preference and shape of ear. Hope this helps, good luck!
Q:the council has put non alarmed scaffolding on our flats and I have already seen a strange man climbing up. Will my insurance still be valid if a thief uses the scaffolding to break into my home?
~~Your insurance would cover you if anyone broke in, unless you set it up yourself (you didn't) so you have no control and insurance would cover this.~~
Q:What are the requirements for the broken seam connection of bowl buckle scaffold. For example, both sides of the seam on the vertical pole is very neat, with steel pipe
Scaffolding does not require the interface may not be in the same span, and the scaffold is not allowed to mix the length of the pole, must use the same height of the pole or cloth from the same pole, according to your description I guess you use is not the same as the length of the pole, or the use of ordinary steel pipe Mashup scaffolding. If the use of uniform specifications of the bowl buckle steel pipe should not be your problem.
Q:Everybody calls it either one, i want the one that goes across the top of your ear. Would it be safer to have two helix done instead of putting the bar straight in and getting the actual piercing or should i get two helix and put a bar in once it has healed? i would ask the piercer to line the two up. ive heard that industrails go wrong alot if a bar is put right in.
I had a monroe piercing about 2 years ago. I think they look fab (little twinkling diamond sort). I went to a fully licenced piercing shop. They will draw a dot and ask if it's in the right place. Then a spray or numbing cream is applied inside and outside of the upper lip. The area is tightly clamped and a piercing is made with a sterile needle. Then the stud is inserted. The back (flat disc) is then screwed onto the bar. The process takes only a matter of minutes and you'll feel a second of pain that's all. Aftercare: Bath area with salted distilled water or even better Savlon Wound Wash after 2 weeks you need to visit the shop for a smaller bar to be inserted as the swelling will have gone done. Unfortunately my piercing never healed right (don't let that put you off as I do have very sensitive skin and reactions to all sorts of things) and it always looked a bit like a red zit so I decided to take it out. Also be prepared for very mixed reactions as some liked it and others hated it. Anyway good luck girl, go and get it done :)
Q:I'm 15 atm, I want either an industrial piercing now or a scaffold piercing that I can connect later. I may be getting a scaffold piercing instead, seeing as school regulations here probably won't allow a full industrial. It might just be a phase but I've wanted one for a while, and if I don't like it I can always just keep the scaffold piercing if I decide to get that. What I'm wondering is: Are there any people who have an industrial? does it annoy you? does it get infected easily? and how long did it take to fully heal?I'd appreciate all answers, even if you only know someone with one. Thanks in advance.
max said it perfect.. just keep it clean .. dont get that industrial caught on anything itll rip half your ear off ive seen it and that will cost alot to fix and is permanent .. so be careful climbing trees etc .. doing kid stuff with advanced piercing work.
Q:How much is the erection height of double row scaffold
It is true that the bowl buckle scaffold and the steel pipe scaffold height requirements are different, and the single row scaffold and double row scaffold are also different.
Q:A window washer is standing on a scaffold supported by a vertical rope at each end. The scaffold weighs 210 N and is 3.30 m long. What is the tension in each rope when the 690 N worker stands 2.30 m from one end?______ N (smaller tension)______ N (larger tension)
assuming the scaffold is uniform weight, take moments around 1 end to get the tension in the rope of the other the ∑M = 0, take the rope tension direction as positive 690 x 2.3 + 210 x (3.3 / 2) = T1 x 3.3 T1 = 586N Now moments around the other end 690 x (3.3-2.3) + 210 x (3.3/2) = T2 x 3.3 T2 = 314N You can check your answers as ∑F = 0, so 586 + 314 - 210 - 690 = 0
Q:I live on the second floor of an apartment building the scaffolding is all around the windows. When the men are working, they are just a few feet away! It's awful. Anyway to find out when this hideous mess will come down?
Well on every building that has construction on it there's a little section that he paper work and permits all over it ( usually at street level) so I'm going to guess if you can obtain the constructions companies phone number from those paper you can call and ask when the scaffolding is coming down.
