Yep, some piercers prefer to do it that way. Just make sure you let them know that that's what you want when you go into the shop and they can accommodate you. No cartilage piercing is healed enough to remove in 6 weeks. Cartilage piercings can take anywhere from 6-12 MONTHS to fully heal.

Q:I really want to get one done and I would like it if someone could tell me how badly does it really hurt? During and after. I know everybody has different pain thresholds but on average? well when i got mine it really didn't hurt tht muchh the second hole hurt the most but only because i was thinking about it. andd it hurts more afterwards especially during the first few dayss if you hit it by accidentt. and cleaning it honestly is a pain, its annoyinggg but you have to do it, during the first few weeks clean it 3 times daily then you can start going down to two times daily. and do sea salt soaks and stufff anddd the actual piercing for me was about a 4 or a 5 (10 being painfulest) and the healing has been about a 5 or a 6 but i just got it done last weeek, if you really want it then get it,the pain is only temporaryy buttt its deff worth it in the end :)

well it depends because some bars are thicker than others, if your changing to a bar as thick as the one you have now then i say about a month is good but if its the slightest bit thicker i suggest you wait maybe 2 months and in the mean time make sure your turning it and wiggling it so after the 2 months go by you can change it to a thicker bar without it hurting

You can, but I can think of two reasons why it might be unwise. Firstly, reinforcing bars are ribbed to provide a key between the concrete and the steel, whereas scaffolding bars are much smoother.
